After yesterdays Hannity fiasco, I had a real hankerin to get back into the fray with the Fightin Dems… I got my chance in OFalafels second hour, when I was the first caller… It was great, because he had an intro piece about his French boycott and falling French wine sales here in the US… I didnt quite demolish him on that, but to any listeners with any kind of economic saavy, I scored some points for the good guys…

Also - If you decide to call ORielly yourself (I know - who would be so self-flagellating… so self-loathing… so masochistic?), be prepared to say what you want to say in four sentences or less. His MO is not to engage you in conversation - he loves the sound of his own voice… (I know, pot calling kettle…) Anyway, what you dont hear me saying, because he cut my mic, is, “Wait a minute… Are you saying that Ken Mehlman and the RNC wont support the troops? That only Howard Dean will?” and, “Do you think the retention rate has anything to do with the incredible bonuses they are offering marines and soldiers to re-up?”

Enjoy. And sorry for the lack of apostrophes - Loudblog wont accept them for some reason…

Good job, man. You know, his voice definitely betrays that he’s lying when he says he’s sold “tens of 1,000s” of bumper stickers.

Mike, you are my hero. I used to listen to these clowns (Hannity was on in drive time) and get all angry, yelling at the radio and then calming down and trying to phrase arguments in ways they couldn’t defuse — that was the only way I could deal with the fact that so many people were being misinformed and warped by these guys.

What you do is one of the most important things in fighting the good fight, because there are too many people out there with the wool over their eyes who need some objectivity but don’t get it on their right-wing media.

Keep on throwing the cold water and I’ll be listening to you on my ride home today!!!

That’s more like it:) Good one. Sounded like Bill’s underlying thoughts were “these guys just want to be politicians, and the only way to do it is as a Democrat”.

BTW, css still borked on the comments page for Firefox. Personally, I recommend wordpress with the blogging plugin (and threaded comments would be cool too), but I imagine all those decisions have been made already.

Oh, speaking of software, for some reason, the sounds seem to play a bit slowly for me. Bill’s voice is much deeper and slower than on the radio.

right on all accounts. the slow audio is an artifact of the mp3 editing technology I’m using. I’ve got some practicing to do - I think I somehow stretched the audio out a bit…

    css is being worked on

from what I’m told, the newest wordpress doesn’t get along well with loudblog - the podcasting/flash technology…

but we’ll keep making it better.

Great work Mike, I loved listening to these when I stumbled on them at DailyKos and I’m definitely going to be hooked on this site. Any chance you’re thinking of putting up a greatest hits ‘archive’ from past calls that made splashes w/ MediaMatters, etc?

I liked that opening debunking his boycott of French wines. He couldn’t even respond and you had him dead to rights! Fo shizzle, Falafizzle!

WOW! You got O’Reilly to say that Iraq Vets MUST go to the DNC to get funding to run compaigns, as in they can’t go to the RNC maybe because they won’t support them.

    Nice Job.
