Calling All Wingnuts

Edie and Bill are really pretty despicable… It is one thing for the comics to make fun of Cheney for being an ass-hat, but for these guys to posit that the gunshot wound Whittington sustained was no big deal… well, that is just asinine.

Listen - there are two seperate reports I have seen. One says that Whittington was shot from thirty yards. The other says thirty feet. OK - so we take the lesser of two evils and say it is thirty yards - that is ninety feet. The distance between home plate and first base.

Still think just a little bird shot is no big deal?

The guy has been in the ICU for three days. He is 78 years old. This was serious.

Update: seems now Whittington has had a heart attack… OK, a heart attack would be one thing - he’s 78 and you might expect something like that… except, the proximal cause of the heart attack, if not the direct cause, was birdshot reaching his heart. Edie, the birdshot wound expert, should fly down to Texas with her tweezers ASAP…

Anyone else see how ridiculous her argument is? I mean, it is just evidence-free… She didn’t know the guy was ever in the ICU, let alone in the ICU for three days… She obviously had no idea how far away Cheney was from the victim… And eveybody, so far, has been remarkably credulous - believing the story about Cheney shooting at a bird. Does anyone really believe these guys would tell the truth if Whittington was 15 feet away and Cheney shot him entirely accidentally - not shooting at a bird, but because he stumbled with his finger on the trigger? Just sayin’…
