Go visit (and listen to) Barry Gordon
Published by Mike Stark February 27th, 2006 in Podcast, UncategorizedHe had me on his radio show today, “Barry Gordon - From Left Field“. It’s a relatively new show on KCAA 1050 AM in Southern California (webcast at www.kcaaradio.com).
This week, he is substituting in the spot normally filled by Al Franken. We talked about different aspects of calling talk radio, how I got started and what advice I could give to those that decide to pick up the gauntlet…
Ans hey… he’s got a great blog too…

I must say that I find this fascinating.
However, I’m wondering why, after you had been talking for nearly 10 minutes and just before the break, Barry’s phone lines were still OPEN.
How could your interview not generate a single call?
uhm… maybe you want to ask if they were taking calls… I was only on for 15 minutes or so…
but, as long as we’re being schmucks, why don’t I tell you this: yesterday the site had nearly 2,000 visotors. How many does your site get?
Buffoon.
I’m a bit surprised that you don’t block your caller ID when you call.
O’Rielly certainly is aware of who you are by now, in your “First Blood” call he so much as said (in an OMINOUS TONE) that they have your number when you call. (Big deal, who DOESN’T have Caller ID these days?)
So, calling up and giving a fake name and city probably just alerts the screener that you’re lying about where you are.
After a few of your calls, O’Rielly’s screeners almost certainly would have noticed you calling from the same number and giving different names, and then blowing him shit on the air. My guess is they’re looking out for you when you call now, you’re Enemy #1–they’ll probably patch your future calls directly into the office of Fox Security!
