Tony Snow - Smoking a Dubai on Ports
Published by Mike Stark March 1st, 2006 in Podcast, Tony SnowI kinda like the port debate also… Mostly because this isn’t something that is so clearly “Cult of Bush” on the other side. Unlike the debates about NSA spying, war in Iraq, Social Security and shooting a man in the face, Bush supporters have an intellectually honest case they can make for this issue…
Anyway, after considering both sides of the issue and seeing that it really is an issue in which both sides have valid arguments, I made my mind up. The merits of the argument were pretty much even on both sides… So I had to make my mind up based on intangibles…
I’ve decided to oppose the port deal because:
- I think it’s better to err on the side of caution in National Security matters
- if George Bush is for it, it must be wrong… if he had been right about anything in his 5 years as President (or even if he had shown competenece in his business career), I might have given him the benefit of the doubt… but when a man is so consistently wrong on everything… when everything he touches turns to shit… well, let’s just say that I’ve decided to play the percentages on this one…

Err is the verb.
Error is a noun.
He said “doing business with.”
It’s more than just “doing business” it’s selling our ports.
You missed an opportunity there.
thanks… i’ll fix.
By Tony’s account, The lies started at Sentence 2.
You did get him to concede that the democrats were pushing for better port security. Good work for talking to a douchebag like Snow!
That’s purdy much how I determined my position on the ports deal: if’un Our Dear Leader’s fer it, then I’m a’gin it!
