Wilkow & Republicans
Published by Mike Stark March 20th, 2006 in Podcast, Andrew WilkowWilkow couldn’t believe that Americans want Democrats to take the Congress back.
I did something I need to do more of in this call… Locally, Congressman John Sweeney is facing his toughest re-election bid since he won his seat. His district is a disgusting example of gerrymandering and is one of the reddest in the state. Recently, as he was publically making noises about lobbying reform, he took off on a skiing trip to Utah - a trip paid for by lobbyists… We’ve got fantastic skiing right here in his district (the 1980 Winter Olympics were held at Lake Placid, NY), and he decided to jet half-way across the country. Maybe he thought he could get away with it.
Not quite. (Click the link. Great video and an awesome example of what every single democrat should be doing.)
It became a big story in the early part of campaign season, and he still hasn’t recovered from it. The race is getting pretty close to being a toss-up.
Anyway, here’s some beauty… He’s been hospitalized repeatedly over the last few weeks… something to do with blood pressure and dizziness… It turns out he’s afflicted with some kind of strange blood vessell inflammation - blood vessels in his brain.
Hmmm… I’ll bet a thousand dollars his doctors told him that he’s not allowed to go skiing in Utah anymore.
And I brought it up in this call…
This is something the media just won’t ask. I wish they would.
Anyway, there is another surprise in the call as well… You remember how friendly Wilkow and I are… Well… We finished by agreeing on something!

Audio’s screwed up Mike. At least it is for me. Other clips on your site are playing but this one is unintelligable.
thanks! fixed. I dunno what happened there…
