Politicians suck

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter was on NPR’s OnPoint this morning.  I really encourage you to listen to the whole thing - her work is important.  I just wish she was as effective at follow-through as she is at raising the alarm.  Instead, she’s like a firefighter standing next to a fire extinguisher saying the stove is on fire but standing idly by as the fire gets worse and worse…

I called and talked to her about what she is probably best-known for and what the topic today concerned:  corruption in the House.

I asked her about the ethics truce.  Toward the end, once she has run out of room to evade, you really hear her squirm.  She even begs the host to “please don’t get off on that.”

I don’t know what to say about this.  The most committed democrats (we bloggers) are being treated like children - the condescention drips through this entire phone call.

I am so sick and tired of being treated by supposed Democratic leaders in exactly the same way George Bush treats reporters.  It doesn’t happen on every issue, but on ethics in the house…  well…  we’ve got fucking problems.

Every single politician from congress all the way through the white house is a proven failure. Worse than failures, they’re corrupt despicable thieves who continue to raid the sinking ship to fill thier own pockets. Throwing them out is far too lenient. Unless of course ‘out’ means out into a burning pit of the oil they’ve killed thousands for. Ghengis Kahn was civilized compared to the trash running/ruining this country.
