More fun with Wilkow

Eventually he’s going to have to learn that he has to engage the debate. He will quit before we will.

You guys want to turn it up a notch? You want to surprise him with a “flood the lines” day? Everyone of us ask a question about abortion? I like the question that was asked today…

“What should the punishment be for a woman that has an abortion?” If abortion is murder… if we don’t distinguish “hate crimes” because murder is murder and it doesn’t matter why you killed… well, Andrew… Do you think we should start frying a bunch of nineteen year old girls that got a little too pregnant before they were ready - and had a first trimester abortion? What if they self-aborted in the third tri-mester?

Will people that bring RU486 across the border from Canada be charged as arms-dealers? Ohhh… Uh-oh… is that going to conflict with your second amendment rights?

Tell us Andrew… and we’ll leave you alone. You have my word.

In fact, Andrew… You are fond of setting up “fantasy debates”. In your world (what color is the sky there, anyway?), you always win those debates…

I’ll promise you this right now. If you have Jane Hamsher on for a 1 hour interview/debate about abortion, I’ll never call your show again. The interview would have to be done in good faith - no filibustering or microphone tricks… Simply two people talking at equal volume for equal amounts of time. You each ask each other 7 questions. Sixty seconds to ask the question, 120 seconds to answer it. 42 minutes. Leaves you plenty of time for breaks.

If you behave like the person you claim to be, if you have the courage of your convictions and are willing to follow through on them… we’ll respect you and your show. We’ll respect your requests to stop calling you.

Again, Wilkow deflects by yammering about ‘the caller’ being bad–’grow up’ and doesn’t broach the actual issue.
If abortion is murder in his little world, why isn’t he standing up for his convictions and calling for capital crimes?
No, he’d rather rant at Mike and the other callers calling him on his hypocricy.
Mike asked the right question–why doesn’t Wilkow stand up for his convictions?
One answer–Wilkow doesn’t have any. He’s doing what he does to get ratings and therefore a paycheque–if he actually acted on his supposed convictions, he would lose his audience very quickly.
He’s a bully with a mic. And Mike and the others are calling him on it.
    Keep up the fantastic work.

Also, as a previous poster aptly noted, he impugns his audience by smearing the activists as people who have no life and listen to talk radio all day long. What a choad.

    Mike:

I am 20 years older than you and have lived in the Albany area all of my life. WGY was the premier radio station in this area. It is one of the oldest in the world. It actually covered local news and had balanced talk radio on it. Most of which was produced here in upstate New York. Something bad happened to WGY. It is now just one of the 1200 or so radio stations owned and controlled by Clear Channel out of Texas.

They have all of the right wing propaganda artists which you can find throughout our country. I refuse to turn it on, even if I am in my car and it is the only channel I can get. Thank God for the web and the ipod, now I can program what I want to hear.

Mr. Wilkow is trying his best to be a Rush lite wannabe; I can not believe that he actually thinks this stuff he says is the truth….. Perhaps he should read the National Review and see what a real conservative says about the War in Iraq. These guys are just playing a role, a role that Texas Clear Channel wants them to play. WGY and Fox News…. just tools of the Republican Party.

Remember things do change. You are doing a great job, keep it up Mike.

    Did I miss something?

Did wilkow really say “…and then they hang up on you.”???

I am sure that mike would stay on as long as wilkow would let him.

Mike, next time you call, since he knows it is you, tell him that the president mentioned bloggers as an important news tool….

Kos has more readers than wilkow has listeners.

The blogosphere and podcasts are taking people away from talk radio…that is why their numbers are down across the board.

Oh and mike….next time you call into hannity, can you ask him this…as he is so proud of his construction background in santa barbara, did he ever hire illegal aliens when he worked as a contractor. (if he says no….then he is lying)

I would also like to know, that since he attended usb, but couldnt afford to graduate, why did he not continue and finish his education at a cali state college…where there is no tuition….only fees….why does hannity hate education.

I’m a big fat faggot… not to pick on the two most popular piss cups besides immigrants.
But listen, what the Calling ALL Wingnuts forum thinks of me is the most important thing in my life
And I’m sure countless lefties have focused strictly on this and given up on much anything else only to be exposed to the mind of Chuck2. because while I let it slide that all women have got to hear this sermon on abortion there’s no way i’m for making people fight about the first amendment like this. and so there’s no choice again for women: you got to listen to this sermon on abortion and what if you could keep the baby and some will surely say that it’d influenced their lives; but what of those who don’t think it’s such a great idea?
Well again, no choice, and thats’s not empowering women at all. And if that makes me a feminist so be it. Not to put to much of a burden on women but they should be able to know if they’re pregnant sooner and more expediently be able to make a decision. So how many more sermons? Can we state that outright right now? Can we win an easy one too?
So where are all the pregnancy patches that don’t cause massive hemoraging?
Or a male pill that works. Who cares if it’s less effective…choice please?
Trying to appeal to both sides here.
    Keep dancing
    Jay

  6. 6 neocon

He was right. You people do need lives, because as much as you like flooding a talk show host’s lines, it’s pathetic. If you really are “pro-choice” and really cared about women’s rights, then why is it that abortion is the only women’s “right” that you advocate. Why is it that we never see you people fighting for other rights of women?

  7. 7 Toadpipe

    Mike,
great point.!..of course he won’t answer you…he advocates war…For M.r. Wilkow to come out of the closet and say “Yes, if a girl has an abortion, she should be tried, judged and executed..”, would be media suicide at this time…but…give it a couple of years…south carolina will be first to pass the abortion = murder law…(or maybe texas)…You have found another weakness in there logic, and you should keep asking that question…Also, the right will claim they are protecting the family unit…Maybe if people could afford to have a child, they wouldn’t be so apt to take extreme measure…no one woman EVER enjoyed an abortion…and the Choice is left up to them…it’s called freedom or something…pursuit of happiness maybe?

Gee, neocon, feminists and liberals have fought for:

Access to birth control (opposed by conservatives)
Fair pay for women (opposed by conservatives)
Access for women for so-called non-traditional jobs (opposed by conservatives)
Better treatment of rape victims (opposed by conservatives)
Criminalization of marital rape (opposed by conservatives)
Social Security equity for women (opposed by conservatives)
    Title IX (opposed by conservatives)

    To name just a few.

Conservatives have a long history of opposing the expansion of human rights to include more than just the priveleged classes–they opposed the civil rights movement, the women’s movement, and the gay rights movement.

  9. 9 Southern Son

I’m surprised anyone would take the name “neocon” in light of the war their ideology started.

And when the crap REALLY starts to hit the fan in Iraq, to the point the military turns on those who lied them into this — we will see if you are still claiming to be a “neocon.”

  10. 10 didjman

Well, if 5-10 years the neocons will all be ex-cons…

  11. 11 kiki511

    Hey Neocon,
If “you people” are so pro-life, so concerned about the rights of the unborn, why don’t we ever see you out there protecting the rights of the born? Fighting against child abuse, neglect, poverty, all of the vile and evil things that adults do to innocent children? Because the children are not your concern, never were and never will be. Your agenda is all about control of women and their bodies, so once that child is born, you have won, and whatever happens to the child from that point on…..well, FUCK “EM, that whore should never have gotten knocked up in the first place…..right neomoron?????????

  12. 12 cosmo

At best, neocon’s a troll who thrives on getting attention. More likely, neoncon’s one of the remaining 30-odd percent of this country who will not be happy until we have a christian taliban in power and accordingly continue to support this administration from hell. Stupid, unthinking, short-sighted freaks who want to destroy America. DNFTT (do not feed the troll)!

  13. 13 chuck 2

Let me speak Mike, if you let this neocon guy speak, you can let me speak as well.

Why do you guys get so upset over someone who challenges your worldview? Is a challenge that upsetting to you that you have to rip him to shreds? If you want to challenge him back, you should deconstruct what he said and use sources, evidence and facts to back up your point of view.

  14. 14 JoeJoeJoe

This is the first time I have had the pleasure of viewing your webiste. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. I will be back tomorrow.

  15. 15 Jack Anusoff

Yeah, those losers that listen to your program and call in need to get a life. :)

i love to view this page. it trully shows how narrow minded both sides of the coin can be.
kiki 511 isn’t not the responsibility of a parent upon reilazation that abused to call the police or better yet shot the perpetrator.
you want to fight neglect and poverty, start with maybe just maybe, doing eveything possible to find a way to feed and cloth them.

i guess you can say im a conservative, and maybe i dont like the idea of gay marriage, it’s for the supreme court to decide.

and to southern son, when i joined the united states marine corps, i had a good feeling that this may not be the worlds safest job.
a young man or WOMAN!! joins the armed services now of days, you should have a preety good idea that is the slight possibility that you may be sent to a hot zone.that is yor job.

and they will be sent by the commander in chief of the armed forces who ever that person may be. they will not revolt and rise up against thier captors, it doesn’t work like that.

And if bill clinton was such a great president, and the bush administration rode in on thier coat tales of economic prosperity,
the i can thank bill and hillary for the terrorist problem to.

rant rave call me a neocon, radical, homophobic christian terrorist, but i did pray to god in 2002 when most of my right arm and leg where blown of by an ied.

and yet being sent to iraq by the “he lied they died evil bush administration” it was still my job a member of the united states armed services family!! to go!!!!!

And will somebody please explain to me why the clinton adminisration sat on thier hands and let over 500,000 tutsi be slaughterd in rawanda. thanks a lot liberials and democrates !!!!!!!!!!!

i’m of rawadan decent. way to go assholes.

and to every one who says that anyone who thinks an abortion is by know means a bad idea,
if your mother had aborted you thier would be less people in the world to fed, and, lesss green house gases no2, co2, and less methane gas from the constant shit that comes from some of your “sides” ideas.
