I saved this from the call I made earlier today because I knew this asshole would be on this evening.

Robert Stacey McCain is the co-author of Donkey Cons.  He is also an editor at the Washington Times.

McCain gave his take on interracial relationships: “[T]he media now force interracial images into the public mind and a number of perfectly rational people react to these images with an altogether natural revulsion,” McCain wrote. “The white person who does not mind transacting business with a black bank clerk may yet be averse to accepting the clerk as his sister-in-law, and THIS IS NOT RACISM, no matter what Madison Avenue, Hollywood and Washington tell us.”

I caught that bastard taking calls from the public.  Listen to him squirm.

By the way…  this isn’t the only spot on his record.  Go here.  Read.  This guy wears sheets.

[UPDATE]  Fixed link - thanks V.

the “Natural Revulsion” thing is on the 3rd page.

    Kerrist.

Considering that this guy’s newspaper is almost entirely subsidized by a convicted felon, “Donkey Cons” is a bit rich.

Good God! How creepy is that guy???

are you aware that theres an ad for “why mommy is a democrat” on the side there? i just noticed that, and im hoping its ironic or unintentional. i dont see how you can defend indoctrinating little kids with any sort of politics.

McCain sounds queerer than a 3 dollar bill.

  6. 6 miss_kitty

I was waiting for McCain to tell us some of his best friends were negroes.

Wanna see McCain squirm some in print? Like in his own emails?

Donkey Cons, that is beyond the pale. Who is that clown, and why did he start stammering about Jerry Springer?

“Well, I was watching this carrrrrnivallll of haaaate…..”
Yea, and probably watch it every night and enjoy it.

“Like you, I just happen to take radicalism seriously. The only difference between us is that you are pro-radicalism and I am … not.”

It’s been pointed out that W and his administration aren’t conservative or liberal, they’re RADICAL.

the definition which applies to my particular brand of radicalism) means “disposed to make extreme changes”

New World Order? Regime Change? Freedom is on the March?

Why is this guy even bothering to try and sell his attitude as “NOT RACISM”? If he has such withering contempt for “Madison Avenue, Hollywood, and Washington,” why is he trying to curry acceptance with them — “Come on, y’all, nausea is a perfectly natural and non-racist reaction to having a black sister-in-law! Why are you looking at me like that?” His life would be so much less stressful if he’d just drop his mainstream pretensions and put on a hood like the rest of his pals.

  11. 11 David Ehrenstein

Obviously Mr.McCain was opposed to Clarence Thomas’ appointment to the Supreme Court. Thomas is married to a white woman, you know.

  12. 12 Dr. Wu

“To some of these perfectly rational people, there is an altogether natural cure for their revulsion: hanging the black man from a tree,” McCain added.

Except, of course, in Fundamentalist Churches.

  14. 14 Donna

Gee. As if you have any business not “accepting” who gets to be your sister-in-law.

  15. 15 Rush's Dealer

he says at the end that he’s never been accussed of racism by a black person….any of mike’s call squad like to change that?

  16. 16 merlallen

I am not defending this guy at all, but I’ve known blacks who were also against interracial marriage. Mostly women who didn’t want their sons to marry a white woman.
    It’s not all one sided.

  17. 17 kln;klnsca

littlepig- good point, little kids shouldnt be indoctrinated with religion (especially not the fundamentalist variety) either

  18. 18 Mushu

Merlallen: You watched “The Jeffersons” too?

Who said it was one sided? Everyone has racist ideas and feelings. It is a virtue to struggle against them. Some people are more successful in their struggle than others. Some never bother to start their struggle.

  19. 19 Death of Rats

Merlallen: You’re confusing the effects of racism with racism itself.

    Racism is about power.

  20. 20 kln;klnsca

no merlallen isnt. racism is either considering there to be fundamental differences between the races, or else its considering certain races to be preferable to others, im not sure. you can say blacks who have racist feelings towards whites is justified due to 400 years of oppression, and yes this would be an effect of/reaction to white racism, but its still racism.

  21. 21 merlallen

OK, only white people are racists. Every other race loves everyone else.

  22. 22 Dr. Kenneth Noisewater

I’m watching this dope on Book TV claiming that his book isn’t an attack pice while describing it like it is.

I love the doubleplusgood type of speaking. Yeesh.

I knew McCain when he worked at the Calhoun Tmes in Calhoun, Ga., a small bi-weekly where he was the Sports Editor. McCain got on evreyone’s nerves…was referred to as “Sporto” by the manager of the paper. He nevr made a deadline on time and is a diganosed manic-depressive, who, when off his drugs goes into terrible episodes of schizophrenic-like activity. he spent his wife into penury roughly 16 years or so ago in one of his mainc episodes, having disappeared for several days, spending close to $60,000 on thier credit cards. Robert was a good writer, but nuttier than a christmas fruitcake. He was nearly fired for attacking a subscriber in the parking lot of the paper, something I witnessed, while he as most obviously off his meds. Knowing he is clinically ill, it only makes sense that his racist rantings that much sadder. Mc Cain graduated from Jacksonville University in Lower Alabama, a school that will take anyone who appears to be breathing. It is not a school of much prestige. Just thought I’d let those who don’t know what McCain really is. A sadly ill man whose rantings shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than Rush Limbaugh’s.

Not sunshine but the facts darlings…McCain became known BECAUSE he mightily and FACTUALLY brought down your beloved Michael Bellesiles, the history professor who wrote that firearms were rare in early America, and who due to McCains critical research was striped of he professorship. In looking up Mr McCain i came across a place that not only lacks sunshine but reeks of mildew.
