Neal Boortz: Delta Strike

Boortz was saying that by striking, the Delta pilots would be killing their spouses and all of their children…

What a hoot, huh?

Anyway, his point is that by striking, the pilots would kill Delta.  The company would be put out of business.

Now, one of my favorite topics - and one I think Democrats should dominate - is labor…  At every turn, the American worker is squeezed, while management grows fat off the fruits of our labor.  Even in this case, management at Delta saw fit to write in a bankruptcy-proof clause that ensures their fat pensions…  Somehow their golden parachutes never tarnish, no matter what the idiocy of their decisions and performance…

Meanwhile, workers…  Well, we are paying more for health care - if we have it - people are afraid to take their earned vacation time - if they have it - and real wages are stagnant…  And all the while, the price of everything else increases (gotta fatten the bottom line to pad those management pensions).  Since the 70s, the American worker has continuously taken it on the chin.

Meanwhile, management and capital holders have flourished.  Wealth in this country has concentrated at the top…

Why does this matter?

Well, look no further than your families…  Why is it that families can not find time to eat together anymore?  Why are kids increasingly raised in daycare - or worse - by the television?  When both parents work - sometimes more than one job… well, the family suffers.  So does the community.  After all, if you do not have time for family, there is not a great chance of you doing much with your local Kiwanis club…

So yeah, I think labor needs to be an issue Democrats talk more about.  Workers have been shafted for way to long and it is time to take our country back.

(Please also note that this is fundraising week.  See the post below this one for a more thorough discussion of why it is important.)

I guess Boortz believes it’s a bad thing to be a union member.

How many concessions does he expect the Delta pilots to make before they finally say they will take no more? I have a high school friend that has flown for Delta for 20 years. He has told me they are making less than half of what they used to make. Their expectation of a lucrative retirement have long ago vanished.

At what point does Boortz expect them to say NO MAS? Or does he just expect them to continue saying “thank you sir, may I have another” after each slap?

Boortz is really a big buffoon. He has his own private plane, two BMW’s, a home in Atlanta and one in Naples, FL. He constantly plugs his new book. If there isn’t one more self-promoting egotistical, self-absorbed , holier-than-thou SOB than this guy. I wish you guys on this website would bum rush his phone lines……I would definiteley join in.
