Think Progress catches Rumsfeld and Limbaugh talking about Zarqawi and Bin Laden’s “media committees”.  Ridiculous and unbelievably patronizing…

From the same interview, Rumsfeld says the media is on the other side…  He all but calls the media the enemy.

Limbaugh:  Let me ask you one final question.  Somebody on my staff is curious to know what your opinion is of embedding reporters with the military.  Has that worked…  has that worked as you had hoped?

Rumsfeld: [some talk about how the media used to embed more frequently]

More recently very few people have been being embedded.  We’re still offering that opportunity, but there have been far fewer journalists who have stepped up to become embedded.

Limbaugh: Why do you think that is?

Rumsfeld: Well, it’s a funny thing.  I asked one reporter about that and there was kind of the impression left that well…  if you got embedded then you were really part of the problem rather than part of the solution and you were almost going over to the other side, argument…  I think that’s an inexcusable thought and I don’t know if that’s the case…

Limbaugh:  That’s outrageous!

Rumsfeld:  It is!  [hearty chortles]

Limbaugh:  That’s outrageous.  I’ll say it!

Rumsfeld: [chortles]

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Bob Woodruff is still recovering from his embedded experience.  No video of Bob in the linked article - the media is probably trying to hide how well his recovery is going…  Treasonous bastards.

What Limbaugh and Rumsfeld are doing is treason. Most of us don’t read history, so it should be said that the purpose of this propaganda talking-point is to cause our nation to implode internally through division. At which time they believe they can take real power, without accountability to the people.

This tactic was described by top Nazi war criminal Hermann Goering during the Nuremberg Trial:

“The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

So now Rumsfeldt and Limbaugh, playing Goering and Goebbels, are denouncing fellow citizens for lack of war-fervor and intimating they are exposing the country to danger. This is the enormity of what they are attempting.

Thanks Mike and others helping with this effort. So many underestimate the threat of right wing hate talk radio. Always have.

I don’t think our nation will implode through division as long as we have humor and can joke about it all. We’ve still got The Daily Show reaching people and SNL and MAD TV can pull off a good Bush impersonation.
Just saw Vendetta recently and what was different between that level of fascism and ours is that they killed the comedians.

What is outrageous, Rushie, is that the Sec. of Defense would make such an implication. As if they are going over to the “other side”, huh?

What is sad is that there are Americans who still believe the Minister of Propaganda and Secretary of Defense as they continue to field this lie that anyone not supporting this debacle is somehow the “enemy”.

That it self shows not only desperation but the level these idiots will stoop to. They have no redeeming qualities at all.
