Found this about the outcome:

Watts' sentencing delayed
EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) ‹ The sentencing of the brother of former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts was rescheduled to Nov. 5, according to the McIntosh County Court Clerk¹s office.

Lawrence Watts was to be sentenced Friday on a first-degree manslaughter conviction in the June 2003 shooting death of Anthony Greco, but the sentencing was postponed at the request of Watts¹ attorneys.

Watts, 54, was convicted Sept. 16 of killing Greco, 49, outside Watts¹ restaurant in Eufaula in what prosecutors said was an argument over money.

Here is the appeal:

http://tinyurl.com/zwbsp

It was appealed from McIntosh County, consistent with the findarticles.com article posted above. Since Lawrence Watts is the Appealant, it appears he lost in the lower court, and that his attorney is Stephen Jones of Enid OK, the same guy that represented Timothy McVeigh in the OKC bombing.

You would think that after McVeigh was put to death, Watts might want to try a different attorney.

Brother of retired congressman J.C. Watts charged with murder - Crime - Lawrence Watts - Brief Article
Jet, July 28, 2003
The elder brother of former Oklahoma Rep. J.C. Watts is free on bond after he appeared in court on a first-degree murder charge.

Lawrence Watts, 52, made his initial appearance before Eufaula, OK, McIntosh County District Judge Steven Taylor, who entered an innocent plea on Watts' behalf. Watts, who was released on $30,000 bond, is accused of shooting Anthony Greco, 49, outside his Watts Barbeque restaurant.

According to reports, Lawrence Watts allegedly went to the McIntosh County Courthouse shortly after the shooting and asked to see the sheriff. He was told the sheriff was out, but that he could find a deputy in the courtroom. The deputy, however, had left the courtroom when Watts arrived, Assistant District Attorney Greg Stidham said.

Lawrence Watts sat in the courtroom and waited until a judge came through, then allegedly told the judge about the shooting, Stidham said.

"He said, 'I shot a man,'" Stidham said, adding that Lawrence Watts later repeated the statement to a deputy.

The state Medical Examiner's office in Tulsa said Greco died from gunshot wounds to the upper left extremities and chest.

Watts' attorney, Deborah Reheard, said Watts had hired Greco to work for him and there was a dispute over whether Watts owed Greco money.

Stidham said the state would not seek the death penalty.
