I was just accepted to the University of Virginia School of Law. Bliss… walking on air… overjoyed - none of it begins to describe the wonderful feeling that news brought…
Unfortunately, I was also called in to work this evening.
My word, aren’t I disjointed right about now?
Eh… whatever. I’m too happy to care. The point is that I am apologizing again for not having a post up for you today. I just can’t bring myself to call Hannity and ask why he wasn’t so concerned that Dick Cheney wasn’t given a breath test when he shot a man in the face…
There’ll be more indefensible crap for the wingnuts to defend next week, I’m sure.

You didn’t miss too much with Hannity. He had Bob Beckel on, and they had a discussion about addiction. Then he went back to his regularly scheduled rant- Kennedy liar, Chappaquiddick, Rush, Cheney, Liberal hypocrisy etc…

-You won’t last one year in law school.
-In law school, you cannot just argue your feelings, you actually can only argue what you can prove or back up with credible evidence and facts.
-Your posts and weak calls into the shows prove you don’t argue with evidence or facts but merely half truths, conspiracy theories, or emotional based thinking.
-In other words, you argue what you want to be true, instead of acknowledging what is actually true.
-In law school, you are not allowed to argue what you wish the law was or what you wish the facts of a particular case were, you can only argue based on what actually happened and what the actual law says.

I was in the car for a few hours today and listened to a few of the wingnuts having a hey-day with the Patrick Kennedy story. I was thinking the same thing…one could have taken every single rant and replace Kennedy’s name with Cheney and no one would have been able to distinguish the difference.
Fucking hypocrits. I even heard one lamenting how the MSM “went nuts over Limbaugh” but are cutting Kennedy all kinds of slack. Unbelievable, really.

Chuck, you couldn’t manage a “congrats” or a “best of luck”? If you find flaw in Mike’s views, you should be thrilled that he’s going to law school - it represents the possibility of him improving his analytical accumen. A guy with the truth on his side would be magnanimous… congratulatory…, not insulting.
Which is why it’s clear you don’t believe much of what you say. Your post is a case study example of projection.

After reading Mike’s posts and how he argues in his calls, it is quite clear to me he will not be able to survive in law school.
In law school, you cannot argue using half truths, conspiracy theories, or emotion based thinking. This is how Mike argues in his calls and posts.
I suppose it is possible Mike will change his ways and develop his debating skills. However, considering Mike is already 37, and fairly entrenched in his ways at this point of his life, I think it is safe for me to argue that given how weak, ineffective, and flawed his arguments are in the posts and calls, he will not complete law school.
(As a side note, I wonder how Mike plans to pay for law school in addition to providing for his wife and kid).

Congratulations on the acceptance to law school. I did that scene myself and while I do not practice now, I can assure you your brain will be most welcome and challenged in your classes. Stay true to who you are and keep using your voice to make your case. Use facts. Be educated when you argue a case. Never lie.
In other words, be yourself.

Congrats! Charlottesville is a great town. I have heard from a friend who went to law school there that they have a strong conservative streak. Give ‘em hell!
