I heard this call and recognized you right away - it was awesome!! You got some good first punches in, and then he had to spin, lie and fabricate to try to wash the truth away. Good job!!!

If I post here the Seanster will probably read it? Awesome.

Sean Hannity, you are a liar and a coward. You are despicable because you lie and spin truth to suit your agendas.

You'll probably brush this off as, "just an offshoot of being famous" but I'm glad to know that for just one brief second I can let you personally know what a lying scum you truly are.

Truth is if you were always honest, you'd have no show and your big daddy Rupert Murdoch would fire you. You're just like your idol

http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=19&media_outlet_id=14/

You'll live a life of idolatry, worshipped as a hero, saint and genius and make a fortune from the sheeple still under the 9/11 spell, but when it comes time for you to face judgement then you'll have second thoughts about your evil life.

echelon is horrible. there is no way to implement oversight of it (i believe those "checks and balances" tenet was talking about were within the agency), we just have to give the government immense power and then trust them. it really really pisses me off seeing democrats/liberals defending it (like at that thinkprogress link). just because clinton did it doesnt mean its ok, you partisan assholes.

having said all that, theres a very important distinction between clinton's abuses and bush's. clinton had the power to violate our civil rights, but he recognized it was illegal to do so. bush, on the other hand, has claimed the right to violate the law. clinton would have recognized that it would have been unconstitutional to spy on americans without a warrant (though that doesnt mean he wouldnt have/didnt do it), bush has claimed this right. that is a very radical change, and its very dangerous.

also, all this needs to be put in the context of total information awareness. everyone who reads this and hasnt heard of it needs to do some research http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_information_awareness . seen in this context, the motivation is clear, it isnt about terrorism. think about what "total" means. that means everything, absolute. they want a database on everything. after implementing this, they changed the name to terrorism information awareness. it was eventually shot down, but it continues semi-covertly: http://nationaljournal.com/about/njweekly/stories/2006/0223nj1.htm

Here is what George Tenet testified to congress about the Echelon program on 4/12/00.

"I’m here today to discuss specific issues about and allegations regarding Signals Intelligence activities and the so-called Echelon Program of the National Security Agency…

There is a rigorous regime of checks and balances which we, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and the FBI scrupulously adhere to whenever conversations of U.S. persons are involved, whether directly or indirectly.<b> We do not collect against U.S. persons unless they are agents of a foreign power as that term is defined in the law. We do not target their conversations for collection in the United States unless a FISA warrant has been obtained from the FISA court by the Justice Department.</b>

http://thinkprogress.org/2005/12/20/the-echelon-myth/

You have to trust George Tenet don't you? After all, President Bush gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
