Cowards

I called Rusty Humphries to talk about the immigration debate some more.  I guess I’ve got a way of getting under wingnut skin.  Listen to how he ends the call.

BTW - let me apologize for the noise…  I heard the end of my call and walked into my hermetically sealed sound studio (ok, it’s a 9′ x 9′ spare bedroom with a stuck door (that’s the noise - the door coming unstuck - and then me sitting in my chair) that we use for storage and as a computer room)…  Then I heard him talking about me and decided to continue recording.

Don’t despair.  This is typical bullying by a fat-ass wingnut.  (I even complemented this bastard in my last call - he did some great radio from Israel - he interviewed some guys from the Al Aqsa Martyr Brigade and it was some really edgy stuff).  Anyway, like I said…  don’t despair.  I’ve cleared this with the lawyers and I’ve got all the pro bono representation I need if he decided to launch a frivilous lawsuit.

But they’d never do that, would they?  I mean the folks living in wingnutosphere aren’t hypocrits too, are they?

Enjoy.

What a piece of work that guy is. His minimum wage comment reminds me of this wingnut pharmacist girlfriend of mine.
We were talking about drugs and she said we need to lower the income tax and raise the sales tax because drug dealers and others are able to hide all the income they make. A high sales tax would catch them if they spent their earning in the U.S.
Reactionary rightwing thinking like Rusty Humphries. They’re just forcing their square peg, wingnut tax cut thinking into any hole that comes their way.

I love how your called a racist because you said that Mexican children were growing up retarded due to polluted water.

Great wingnut tactic, Hang up on the evil racist. Lower minimum wage and take the moral high-road… hehe

They really don’t have much left do they?

    Keep it up.

mike kind of has the same trouble i have. he’s not quick witted. meaning, he can’t formulate his thoughts and rebut well on the spot. He’s alot better when he sits, thinks about it, and writes it down. this may be a problem if he decides to be a trial lawyer.
the minimum wage would have been an easy one to combat, but there was pressure. the talk show guy’s logic was based on the lie that corporations pay illegal immigrants minimum wage. They don’t. if they did, then they wouldn’t bother finding illegal immigrants. they could just hire american workers and do it legally. lowering wages and increasing the cost of living would reduce illegal immigration, but it would have a nasty side effect of making things more horrible for legal citizens.
ps. what is the legality of calling recording this stuff and posting it on your website? you’re far from the only one doing it so i assume it can’t be that big of a deal. plus it’s your voice too. i’m not sure how much of a commercial entity this is. however, i would still like to know what the legal usage would be.

This guy is not only a wingnut, he is a stoopid wingnut..or is that the same thing. If the minimum wage is lowered he will be working for only $3.00 an hour, if that. Good call.

that’s not true. i doubt that he is working at minimum wage. your average local dj makes minimum wage or less depending on if they are full employees, interns, or just worked out a deal with the radio station. however, syndicated radio personalities are a different animal. he’s probably on contract. bottom line is that he likely earns somewhere between $50k-six figures. Plus he probably gets a budget and benefits depending on the success of his show. So i think it’s safe to say that he isn’t in the min wage category. Some of the people behind the scenes of his show may be min wage though. The secretaries, phone workers, interns, ect.

i truly find it funny that those who dont work for min wage are always calling for the end of the min wage

and fact is, most illegals work below min wage and with no benefits….how better to pad the corporatists pockets

I haven’t looked at it that way, but you’re right. As always, those who don’t have to suffer for their decisions are quick to make those for the rest of us.

    Good job, Mike!

As far as the comment about not being quick-witted and whether that translates into a good trial lawyer, I wonder if you are being reasonable. These wingnuts are chosen for their gift of grabbing the next talking point and NOT responding to callers in a relevant way in favor of consistently promoting propaganda. That’s not really a lawyer skill.

I, however, admit I am NOT fast on my feet and so I don’t even call. And I lose my temper way to fast over this stuff. I would really enjoy hearing a call made by some other people too, but it seems Mike is the man for this right now. Make a call yourself, I will judge whether you are quick-witted enough … fair?

As a trial attorney, I can tell you that most of us are not that quick-witted. Don’t believe everything you see on TV!

That talk show host took you behind the woodshed, Mike. You shouldn’t post things like this that reflect so poorly on your intellect.

    Just a tip.
