For the rest of you readers….
Today I called to talk to Rush about the Defense of Marraige Act that is being “debated” in the Senate this week.
In the process, I reveal the real reason Rush doesn’t want me calling his show.
Here’s the transcript:
Rush: Steve in Baltimore, your next on the EIB Network sir, glad you waited and welcome to the program.
Me: Thank you very much Rush. You know I agree that the Defense of Marraige Amendment that they’re debating is nothing but a base-rallying ploy, but you know… that’s campaigning and it’s illegal to use office resources for campaigning. We’re paying them a salary and it’s a waste of time. I thought it was interesting that you brought up Newt Gingrich in that context because talk about “Defense of Marraige” - he left his wife while she was getting chemotherapy - for his lobbyist girlfriend. Now Rush, the real reason I’m calling is to tell you that this is Mike from Albany (mic cut) calling for CallingAllWingnuts
Rush: You know something, I’ll tell you something Steve (snaps papers)… It’s interesting that you bring up Newt Gingrich in this… Let’s go back to what you said about gay marraige being a waste of time in the Senate. The simple fact of the matter is that any time the Senate is doing something that is worthless, we are all the beneficiaries. If they are wasting their time, and of course that’s a definition that is, you know - up for grabs - uh, then, (mumble mumble) different definitions of worthless, but if they are debating something that doesn’t have a chance of being passed - if they are debating something that is mindless, near campaigning then that to me is a plus. Because it means they’re not putting together rotten legislation like an immigration bill.
Now we know why Rush doesn’t want me calling his show. He was clearly flustered… First, he went down the Gingrich road, quickly realized it was a perilous dead-end (how do you defend Gingrich for that?), and changed course. Then he completely disses the base by agreeing that gay marraige debate in the Senate is a waste of time… oops… he realizes his mistake, equivocates and finishes up by saying that an immigration bill would be rotten legislation! How do you think his minions feel about those sentiments?
He couldn’t dispense with this call quickly enough.
And I proved his threat - the threat he made on the “Jack” call, wa sas hollow and empty as we all knew it was. I gave him the chance to say what he really felt… what a creepy pissant, huh?
And by the way - Rush has been married three times himself. So it’s no wonder he doesn’t much want to talk about Defense of Marraige…

Way to go, Mike!!! You got him with a clean shot! I’m sure he knew about the Call-in campaign, so I was surprised he was taking calls at all, let alone yours! I would hate to be his screener during the next break! Anybody got a dittocam recording of his nuclear reaction?
As for Rush’s own sacred marriage vows, I’ve got advice for any woman out there who wants to get inordinately rich, and possesses a strong stomach: marry Rush! You’ll notice after his divorce from Marta (wifey #3), nary a peep was heard from her…I’m sure part of the settlement was a HUGE payoff to her to keep her mouth shut. So gals, line up for the Rush gravy train, but make sure you have a strong gag reflex!

Today, you admit that you are Mike from Albany and rush just ignored your confession as if he didnt hear you.
You keep this up and he is surely going to fail his next unannounced court ordered drug test.

You did get cut off on the radio…there’s a delay, remember? Since you said it at the end, it just cut from the end of your statement to Rush answering you as “Steve”. Gotta remember that delete button, sorry.
You were cut off before you got out your website name. If you had not been, as your transcript indicates, you wouldn’t have a handful of posts on your website from your buddies who think Go-Bots are better than Transformers. Your own audio clip shows you were cut off as soon as you revealed you’d lied to get on the air.
Nobody cares about you or who you are. You’re not “Mike in Albany,” you’re just some guy who knows rudementary HTML. How many listeners do you have or visitors to your website? You are not a journalist or a commentator or even a columnist.
Now please commence your personal insults of my intellegence and on Rush. I look forward to seeing if you can do so without using the word “Nazi.”

bill, what sort of credentials do you need to be a “commentator”? isnt that just someone who makes comments? obviously mike is fairly small-time, all the more beautiful when he takes down the most listened to conservative icon, and makes it look easy. i really dont think rush is very smart or quick-witted. hannity wouldve been harder i think.

No, people, I’m telling you. I heard it with my own ears. I don’t know about mike’s audio, he may have gotten it from his own self recording his call in real-time. It was cut off on the air after he said his point about Newt Gingrich- it went right to Rush Limbaugh saying, ‘You, know, Steve,’ or whatever; it cut to his answer. Never heard his identifier. I guess it doesn’t really matter though, people here heard it, so be happy.
hey - for the record, “Me” is probably correct… this recording came from the Rush’s webcast - and I guess the delay isn’t used there.
It did get cut on the radio - spoke to a board op at my local affiliate. But if you’re posting a file from his website, isn’t that a copyright violation? Rush probably wouldn’t do anything, but what about corporate parent Clear Channel? Couldn’t they take legal action against you?

Mike: heard you on Hannity today…you’re definitely under these guys’ skin - Hannity’s smarmy “I’m not going to give out your website” remark shows how much you’re pissing these guys off. (I pity the screeners- they’re no doubt losing their jobs daily). Keep it up!!! This is class warfare, it is only a question of when we realize it.
I like what you are doing, but I think you should be more direct and to the point with your questions. Focus on yourr question and the audience will be forced to see the wingnut’s lack of logic. The more you put your personality into the issue, the more folks will dismiss you based on your personality. If you focus on the question, you give them no choice but to focus on the issue at hand - and that is the important thing.

In his drug-addicted late adolescence — and by that I mean right now since he has never emotionally progressed past the effective age of about 16 — he nervously hides behind the skirts of a call screener and lies to sychophants like you who spume back mindless adulation that sates his diseased ego.

You should probably also know that serious people do not take Limbaugh seriously. Go take a long look at yourself in the mirror and turn off your radio. You are already badly damaged.
