What qualifies as desecration - Using the flag in a commercial endeavor, designed on a jacket? What qualifies as the flag - manufactured cloth, or the plastic variety and July 4th newspaper printings? Should state flags be given the same protection?

I disagree about George Bush not serving his country. Fair or fowl Bush, like Dan Quayle, served in the military. Bush, for two years, did outstanding in his training based on observations of his training records. It was the last 2 years he fell off the merry go round and what is now bringing up all these questions. Yes he used it to avoid the war, he had that luxery. Many that went to college had that luxery. Want something insidious? The men that fired their weapons into the crowd at Kent state - how many of them even got one deferment? Majority of the National Guard was still lower economic class, firing at a crowd of priviledged students. I’m digressing though.

It’s easy to be an empty suit in the military, even today in drawdown (in the navy). Bush would not have been the first nor the last. However, we do a disservice. Praise Bush for his first 2 years, then be ashamed of his last 2-3 years.

By the way, nice call Mike. I like how apolitical you were and how you took Bush head on. I’m curious what your view on this issue is, and I guess (and hope) its similar to mine: This isn’t an issue at all.
