Kilmead - all mouth, no logic (and certainly no courage)
Published by Mike Stark July 3rd, 2006 in UncategorizedKilmead is on Fox News Radio. He’s half of Brian and the Judge.
He doesn’t like me very much, I fear. You see, a coupla weeks I called him and suggested that if he thought this war was such a noble cause, he should volunteer to fight it. I call that recruiting. He called it a nasty barb… I still don’t get it. I mean, that’s what our recruiters are doing day in, day out… They are out there telling kids how commendable it is for them to fight for their country. Kilmead didn’t like hearing that.
Anyway, I held for way too long to talk to him today. I had a lot more I wanted to say, but he didn’t want to hear it. He even says so as he cuts me off (I think that was a faux pas on his part… Radio show hosts aren’t supposed to admit they they cut you off becuase you pointed out something that undercuts their argument… they, supposedly, welcome dissent…)
Alright - to the call itself: I don’t think Democrats can mention Osama bin Forgotten often enough. We know where he is, but even after all that talk about making no distinction between terrorists and those that harbor them, George Bush still hasn’t gone after him. I don’t really understand why this isn’t THE ISSUE regarding the war on terror. bin Laden cuts more wax that Eminem, but if you pay attention to Fox News, Eminem is the bigger enemy…
while I’m at it, I may as well dispel some of Kilmead’s ass-talking-out-of….
Kilmead says that they are afraid of Mushareff being toppled and really bad guys taking over in his place…
Uhm… first of all, the fundamentalist threat in Pakistan isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. They are an extreme minority (about 20%). Most Pakistani’s are decidedely moderate and hostile to the Taliban clones.
These radicals do have an outsized voice because they blow shit up and try to kill Mushareff with some regularity (as well as burning down western style billboards and the like). But they operate in the shadows and their real strength is in the hinterlands (where bin laden is hiding).
If we were to invade these backwater villages in an effort to catch bin Laden, most Pakistanis, I think, would understand. Some would cheer.
But what if the worst case did develop? What if our invasion provided the impetus for a hostile take-over? What if Pakistan went Taliban?
Well, they’ve got a nuke or two. I guess they could attack India… Of course, that would be the end of Pakistan… It would never exist as a independent country again. Further, if these evangelical Muslims used nukes, it would end up in another Crusade type situation - only this time, I’m fairly certain there wouldn’t be a need for any more crusades because the wing-nut wet-dream of total war against Islam would probably be realized as other countries in the mid-east chose sides…
Alternatively, they might be able to reach out and touch us by smuggling a nuke into Baghdad or Saudi Arabia… good luck with that though… I don’t know how you move a package that size with its radioactive signature through several countries…
More likely, I think a Pakistani Taliban would never get near operational nukes. The Mushareff gov’t would have them disabled long before any nutjob could get their hands on them.
At any rate, what Kilmead is saying is that we are basing operational decisions in the war on terror on our fear of terrorists in Pakistan. He’s saying that our stance is that because there are terrorists there, we won’t fight them.
That’s pretty pathetic.

what a dick…
and I think you’re right about the faupax or whatever… however, your voice was squashed and that’s what counts to these fuckers…
(sorry yall about the profanity, but it’s been a rough 6 or 7 years)
