Ann Coulter will make news within a few days.  Her habit of plagarizing has been bubbling around the blogosphere right now - and it was picked up by the New York Post recently…  but it hasn’t gotten any real play in the major media.  I think that’ll be changing soon.

And it will be sweet when it does.  Hannity had her back on his television show this evening.  It appears that Fox is sticking by her for now.  LOL…  Good I say…  they’ve stuck by Bush/Cheney and their ratings have been tracking right alongside Bush/Cheney’s poll numbers.  Let them hitch their wagon to Ms. Adam’s Apple…

Anyway, Tom wrote in to give me the heads up today.  He called Hannity to put him on the record regarding Ann’s theft.

Hannity stands by his woman.

Nice job Tom! way to phrase the question ( conservative NY Post ) :) Now if this blows up, we have Hannity , on the record, endorsing her work, and denying the allegations.

Notice how Hannity set up the strawman? Oh, it’s not 25 words and 48 words and 31 words in her book. No, it’s 2 word “President Bush” or “United States”.

Now, how many will give a crap, seriously give a crap, that Ann Coulter plagiarizes part of her book? It’s a subject that goes over people’s head. We’re a society that tapes tv shows, downloads movies and songs, photocopies things without remorse. As a society, we don’t care. This will only matter in the media circles. I hope newspapers drop her on principle, but I doubt it.

Put it this way, the Vice Presidents office LEAKS material to the New York Times instead of putting it out to the public. Then the Vice President QUOTES the New York Times article that carried the information of that leak. Yeah, he basicly quotes his own information, but it appears as if it came elsewhere. Now, how shady is that? You’d get a PhD removed for less.

Still, I see little occuring with Ann.

Hannity will endorse her work and deny the allegations even if they are advanced to an undeniable stage. You have him on the record…so what? Big deal. That’s not a score for the liberals.

People who hate Coulter will gloat and hate her even more.

People who love Coulter will defend and love her anymore.

Ann Coulter is polarizing. On purpose. Hannity will defend her no matter what. On purpose.

Hunter S Thompson was once asked (I don’t remember which magazine it was..either National Observer or The Nation or another) about the caricature Duke, based on Hunter aka Raoul Duke, in Doonesbury. I’m going to paraphrase here without proper sourcing, unlike Coulter whose book is full of footnotes and sourcing which are robustly documented in a thick bibliography, so don’t accuse me of plagarizing.

“The smart ones understood it was a weird exaggeration. The dumb ones got scared and told their children to stay away from me. The really smart ones understood it was a tamed-down comic book version of the real thing.”

(As a side note, the NY Post is not deserving of bold conservative labels or font. That’s a yahoo rag for greasy Starbucks yuppies who call themselves Crunchy Cons on the weekdays while fucking their hand to Britney Spears videos at night, all over the Ikea coffee table. You don’t want to know what they do on weekends. Lesson: Call the NY Post whatever you want, it is not conservative.)

I don’t know where else to put this….

Sorry for posting this here Mike but I have to ask this too…why don’t you every try to call Michael Savage or Jerry Doyle? Savage might be more conservative than even Coulter and Doyle is a independent conservative that leans libertarian. Savage is the 3rd most listened to talk show and Doyle is the..7th? 8th?

Instead, you list Tammy Bruce and Rusty Humphries, Medved and Wilkow? What, only the easy targets, Mike? Those people are boobs. Take on some real targets; Ham Spammity may have a large audience, and you’re becoming a staple in the program, but he’s child’s play.

Try the big leagues. Rush & Ingraham I view as the two best able to conduct their programs intelligently, but will eject premises they don’t agree with. Doyle & Savage would be more likely to listen and debate your premises, depending on how you framed the question. Neither of them like the way Bush handles the war. 580WDBO streams them.

Be careful though, they have mean bites to back up their barks. Doyle is a sleek doberman pincher with rapid fire & Savage is a mean old spike-collared Bulldog with rabies.

“All they want to do is attack her because they can’t stand her views, and it’s an effort to shut her down, silence her, discredit her, and render her impotent, it’s only because she’s effective that you want to do that.”

Anyone else think that this sounds EXACTLY like what Ann Coulter did to Bill Clinton?

…and Hillary and Cindy Sheehan and Howard Dean and Al Franken and Michael Moore and the general population of moderate to far-left progressives.

  7. 7 Jack Anusoff

Those damned liberals at the NY Post! They can’t stand it that Coulter gets under her skin. I wish Hannity would have let you ask, “If it’s only liberals that don’t like Coulter’s speech then why are so many conservatives condemning her? Why is the NY Post accusing her of plaigarism? Why are dozens of RW bloggers denouncing her rhetoric, especially about 9/11 widows?” Answer: It’s all the liberals fault.

Hee Hee… Ann Coulter has been rendered impotent. I had a funny feeling about “Ann”.
I know Sean said impedent but I don’t know what that means.

Why do you think she wrote her books? Some grad student probably did, who (unlike law review alumna Ann C.) isn’t swift on citations.
