Seniority wise, even if you defeat the incumbent in the primary, and win the general, you now have a Senator with <b>no seniority</b>. Clearly the person seeking to hold power is Lieberman. <b>Why else would he collect signatures to be on the ballot as an independent</b>, in case he loses the Democratic primary?
