Greenwald & Horowitz on Alan colmes
Published by Mike Stark July 8th, 2006 in UncategorizedI’ll say it over and over again: if you want good radio, Alan colmes is cream of the crop.
Last night he had Glenn Greenwald on with david Horowitz to talk about an escalation of absurdity that’s been sweeping the right side of the blogosphere. The cowardly punks think the way to win an otherwise losing debate is to post pictures of their opponent’s homes, publish their opponent’s addresses and do other things to provide avenues for their clinically insane enforcers to go after their “enemies”.
I’ve pretty much stuck to talk radio because there is at least a modicum of responsibility left in that medium.
Anyway, one of the things I think has to be done with more frequency is a comparison of credentials between the pundits we choose to listen to. for the life of me, I have no idea why anyone pays attention to Horowitz. He’s mastered one art: the art of shaking down senile old men like richard Mellon Scaife and John Olin. His work is riddled with error and he’s never published a single thing that’s gone through a peer-review process.
Yet he feels qualified to tell us who is and isn’t qualified to teach at the University level.
Whatever…
Finallly, a program note: I’ll be travelling until Tuesday. Probably little to no action on the website until then.

I like it. Horowitz didn’t know how to get out of it. He didn’t have a host that would tag team with him and spin it his way. All he could do is dodge the question and blame everything on liberals. I wonder, though, how many in wingnuttia actually believe that we should go pogrom on a bunch of college professors. Or, more realistically, how many would send their kids to Liberty or Oral Roberts U because of these books. Is that the real reason for these books?
Alan Colmes may be “good radio”, but when it comes to that televised turd of a cable show “Hannity and Colmes”, Colmes let’s those neocon fascist shills walk all over him with their lies, misinformation, and over-hysterical and inflammatory talking points…and it’s g-ddamned PATHETIC. I have a hard time mustering up any respect for the man.
I enjoy Alan’s radio show. Unfortunately it is on here in Tucson from midnight til 2am, so I don’t get to hear it all that often. Like most other Democrats, I wish he was more assertive on H&C. It has to take alot of restraint to not reach across the counter and slap some sense into Hannity.
Guys,
On hannity and Colmes, you do realize that its his job to make the liberal Democrats look weak, dont you?
The day he asserts himself on h&C, he will be out of a job.

I don’t know when you’ll get it posted, but travelling didn’t keep you off the phone with Hannity.
It is infuriating, listening to him say the same crap over and over, even after he has been proven wrong before. I guess it comes down to repeating the same stuff over and over, and people taking it as fact. It’s depressing so many people lack the ability to think for themselves.
Publishing the addresses of people’s homes is despicable–kind of like you publishing an off air conversation with Rush’s screener and getting the guy fired…
