Yesterday on Hannity

Hannity’s starting to talk a lot about the netroots, bloggers and Joe Lieberman.  You can tell he still doesn’t have a clear idea of what bloggers are, and that’s good for us.

He’ll never know what rolled over him…

Anyway, this is a pretty large cut from his show yesterday - thirteen minutes worth.

We start out with a pretty funny portion of a call from some guy from California.  The caller began by saying that he listened to Sean on Mondays and Fridays.  Sean asked what it would take to get him to listen Tues through Thurs.  The caller said that Sean could send him a pair of tickets to the San Diego concert Sean is organizing.  We pick it up there…  I love when the caller says, “C’mon sean, make me one of those republican cronies.”

Next, I included a good bit of a pretty long monologue for context and to give you a sense of how much the netroots and people-power are really scaring old media - including the talkers…  They don’t know how to handle the idea that America consists of more than a bunch of couch-potatoes sittng in their living rooms nodding at whatever they say…

Next comes my call.  I just defended the netroots the best I could, but Sean is getting pretty good at managing the volume of my microphone.

Finally, Caleb called Sean again with an interesting question.

    Nice work everyone!

Here is some info on the Coulter quote in question. So the Republicans don’t question the veracity of it, I’ll use newsmax as a source.

“Coulter had stated that her “only regret with [Oklahoma City bomber] Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”

She added such a bombing would have been appropriate only if Times’ reporters and editors were inside.

    In response to Caleb’s question:
Sean said that he hadn’t seen one republican politician embrace Ann Coulter. Mike, If you are still going to the NJ Freedom conceert, I bet you can get some pictures and audio disproving that statement. There are sure to be plenty of politicians there.

    hey folks…

i was actually pretty suprised that Little Pills didn’t cut me off like he did the last time I was on.

i loved Hannity’s response, because it basically comes down to IOKIYAR: It’s OK If You’re a Republican. in fact, i initially considered starting my call with that. i figured that would get me hung up on pretty quickly, though.

his response is the main reason i have no respect for the man- especially that little quote at the end stating “i’m not sure the NYT quote is right.” typical wingnut deflection- make the veiled accusation of untruth without actually making it.

i didn’t realize, until i listened to the clips on the main page, that i was calling in reaction to Little Pills’ call with the illustrious Mike.

anyway, i’ll be posting here in the replies as often as i can get on… not only to help give some background/backstory to the calls, but to document what actually occurrs when i call (Little Pills is pretty good at ‘creative use’ of his 5 second delay).

I recently stumbled upon this great blog, and I gotta ask you all, how can you stand to listen to fools like Hannity, even for the purpose of performing an autopsy on their lunatic rants? I tried listening to Hannity for a few minutes and just couldn’t take it anymore. I ripped my headset off and burned it. To think that people actually listen to that nonsense and agree with it is astounding.

Somebody needs to clean the sewers… I guess I’ve got the stomoach for it. (I just wish the pay was better…)
