I just can’t shut up

Anyway, the radio listening and calling-in has taken a dive. Email answering is sporadic. But I can’t go away completely.
Been reading about the Lieberman bullshit. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. I despise that sanctimonious blowhard. I’m not sure I’ve ever known a politician that likes himself more than he does. That’s saying a lot - I survived Bill Clinton!
So this is today’s “Deep thought”.
All those people you hear speaking so highly of Joe Lieberman - from both the left and the right - have one thing in common: They are Joe Lieberman’s “friend”, but they aren’t his “best friend”. Why? Because Joe Lieberman is his own best friend.
A lot of people have a lot of nice things to say about Lieberman. But given the choice, I’m not sure if a single person would choose Joe Lieberman to be in a foxhole with them.

You know, my first exposure to politics was as a kid, when the PMRC tried to take away my Dio and Motley Crue records.
So I just knew Lieberman was shady and an curious dem when a few years ago he went on that crusade on motion picture ratings. Does anyone even remember that anymore?
I guess I’ll let Tipper slide. Unbelievably now that I think about it, that woman was Public Enemy #1 when I was in 4th grade. I even wrote her a letter. I wanted her to know I was one of the dark minions of Satan.

I wish we all were “surviving” Bill Clinton right now …… one of our best presidents. I know the point was that Clinton loves himself. That might be true - but what a great leader - articulate, motivating, intelligent, and hard working. Not a single one of these attributes can be used to describe the guy we have in the White house now.

Today Limbaugh opened his show with some blather about Jon Benet Ramsey and went on to say that “Thailand is one of the most popular destinations for sex junkets, by the way” (I wonder if he had read this or knows from personal experience of traveling there with a carry on bag filled with bootleg Viagra) and then went on to make a tasteless joke about the sex industry and the “appropriately named city of Bangkok”
What a maroon this wingnuts are. That was all I could stand to listen to of this fool, about 2 minutes.
Have you noticed that Rush’s vaunted “morality” (if he ever had any) has completely gone down the tubes? Since his (3rd) divorce, he is also making tasteless jokes about women and marriage. This from a fat blowhard who screamed about Clinton’s dalliances.

He was upset that we are losing in Iraq, like we did in Vietnam (according to wingnut) cuz we are not bombing like we did in Dresden or Hiroshima (yes ,he used this city, and its destruction, as an example)

Mike I am a big fan but the “I survived Clinton” line makes me think you have been listening to too much rightwing radio. One thing I notice talking to conservatives is that a lot of them do not like Bush unless they are on the payroll or a complete nut. One thing they do well though is make liberals and dems out to be lying scum buckets without a trace of evidence. They did it to Gore with the inventing the internet thing and they did it to Clinton. Clinton was lying yes, but only because he was trying to get by a sham lawsuit funded by his rightwing enemies. I would have lied too. However the GOP apratiks are good at making the other guy (ie. Gore, Clinton, Kerry) so intolerable based on made up crap that they create an excuse for themselves and their base to vote republican, even though they do not necessarily like what their own party stands for. Clinton has a big ego but you need a big ego in politics. I work for a politician who is so full of himself it makes me puke. But it helps when you go in front of the media and voters to have confidence even though a lot of it is phony.

Alex….Keep your ideas in Canada. I hope that if you were ever to have cause to be in court against another party, they wouldn’t lie during a deposition. It is despicable and a crime, it doesn’t matter if it was over a $20 light bill or inappropriate touching. I am sure you wouldn’t be so “liberal” with their motives if you lost the case and owed your lawyers a ton of dough.
