I wish you well. Keep the fire lit. The crazies will always be crazy, but commerce rules. Advertisers are sensitive about who they align their brands with. I wouldn’t expect them to support left- wing hate either. Melanie Morgan and her ilk cross a line almost every day. They add nothing of value to any serious debate.
Melanie Morgan may be an experienced journalist of 20 years but she shouldn’t brag about it. Her credibility deflates before her first sentence is complete. The George Soros revelation must have taken her weeks of digging to confirm. She nailed you with that one Mike. Follow the money and at the end of the rainbow George Soros is there with a pot of gold. It’s unique insights such as these that are a constant embarassment for liberal thinkers.
Except for the shining star, Joe Lieberman has defended his liberal philosphy so well he sounds like Bill Kristol. You may want to encourage George the next time you see him to direct a few dollars to poor Joe. He almost had that job of Secretary of Defense and would have too if dad had not have stepped in and given Gates the job. Joe could be a big help to you in depriving KSFO of their first ammendment rights.
Ms. Morgan is a strong supporter of constitutional rights except for a few. It’s no wonder she’s outraged by your attempt to publicize how ABC supports right-wing extremists. They are fighting for the governments’ right to torture, suspend Habeus Corpus, kidnap suspects and wire tap our phones. Experienced, patrotic scribes like Ms. Morgan are the first to step-up against inexperienced hot heads like you and use cliches that really hurt your credibility.
To save your reputation I’d recommend a rebuttal called “I Know You Are But What Am I ?” That should really take the wind out of her sails.

Excuse me, but exactly what (SIC)”first ammendment rights” (don’t you think you should actually learn to spell it first if you intend to claim it?) is KSFO being deprived of?
Miss morgan is NOT a champion of FREE speech, what she IS championing is better described as COMPENSATED speech.
Miss morgan’s message is currently funded by advertisers, who have absolutely no constitutional requirement whatsoever to continue to fund her message if it differs from their corporate values.
The decision to continue to allow miss morgan to use of their airtime is solely at the discression of KSFO, not the advertisers. If KSFO gets to a point that it is no longer economically viable for them to permit miss morgan to continue her rants on THEIR dime (personally, I doubt that will ever happen since her husband is the station manager), then she is still well able to pick up a megaphone, station herself on ANY street corner and rant to her hearts content with all the other nutcases.
This is not a “First Ammendment” issue, Mark. Never was, and never will be.
The First Amendment prohibits GOVERNMENT from abridging the free speech of citizens…last I checked, KSFO was a private entity leasing airwaves from the Government, and excluding decency standards, the Government has no say on it’s content.
The Constitution os a wonderful document…you should actually READ it sometime…especially if you intend to quote it.

Let me guess, your job is to criticize the criticism of critics whom you feel are incorrectly critical in addition to grading grammatically incorrect comments. For a 3:30 am post, I thought I did fairly well. Had I know I’d be so critically analyzed I would have double-checked my spelling.
I stand by the points I made. In answer to your query, “…exactly what First Amendment Rights is KSFO being deprived of,” that was precisely my question. I did not make the claim, Ms. Morgan did. BTW, last names are always capitalized. Her article complained that Mike was attempting to deprive KSFO of their First Amendment rights. Surely you read them –

I can only conclude that my veiled attempt at humor was too veiled. In future posts I shall endeavor to express ideas more clearly. Ms. Morgan made a number of claims which were trite and poorly studied. Her assertion that Mike violated the rights of KSFO was just one.
Her mention of George Soros is a patently standard neo-con screed. My claim that George Soros is always mentioned as the money at the end of the liberal’s rainbow was also meant in jest. She also called Joe Lieberman a liberal, another silly idea only a neo-con could believe.
However, I will take your stern remarks under advisement. Perhaps I’ll put a smiley face behind concepts where I’m attempting to use humor. In the meantime, the next time you lash out with the voice of authority, remember that scowls will age your prematurely. Grasp the subject before you criticize. Most important, humility is a key to understanding posts in the comment section.
Mark, my apologies for coming on a little too strong…as for capitalizaton of last names, it is a sign of respect that I do not wish to extend to miss morgan. She is a proverbial henny-penny. There is only so much any reasonable person can stomach of a shrill harpie constantly screetching that “THE SKY IS FALLING!” before you just completely write off any notion of credibility.
Personally, I would like to believe that even miss morgan does not believe her own schtick. Mush like her blood-sister (m)ann coulter, I fervently hope that morgan is only in it for the paycheck, and knows that among the mouth-breathers that wade in the shallow end of the far-right gene pool, rabid red meat stances sell alot of fucking books.
Miss coulter has made a jock-strap full of money catering to the primal urge to hate….miss morgan is snout-deep feeding from the same trough.
The ones that really scare the fucking shit out of me are the sean hannitys of the radio reich. While miss coulter and miss morgan are pretenders to the throne, hannity actually BELIEVES the spittle he spews. You know that in the tiny lump of coal that is his heart, he actually believes that every fabrication he formulates…every outright lie he spreads…every half-truth that he is aware of the other half, but conceals…you know that he feels that his distortion is fully justified as long as the end satisfies the means.
It is truly frightening to comprehend that there are people out there who are willing to lap his shit up as if it were manna.

Why does no one, well besides Greenwald, Stark, C&L, Think Progress, and other alternative news sources, report the call for annihilation of all who oppose the bush administration? Is it that the mainstream media doesn’t know about this? Do people who call for politician’s heads, literally, get a free pass; do not criticize, do not report, ignore, turn a willful blind eye to this anti-democracy, paid well speech. I don’t think any of them believe there own bullshit. Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Beck, Levin, Steyn, O’Biern, Malkin, etc. None of them do.
There is no way they are smart enough to have such good communication skills and be dumb enough to believe what they speweth.
I’d be more inclined to think they were frauds if one of them wasn’t running the country. I do know that many of their disciples are Dominionists and believe our constitution should be replaced by biblical law. They long for the good old days 3000 years ago.

Obama-Rama, There is no christian-bashing going on here. I share a great respect for people who believe in Jesus Christ, and are faithful to his teachings, as everyone here does. What I have no respect for is people who attempt to subvert the teachings of Jesus Christ for a political means…those people are NOT “christian” in any sense of the word…what they are is opportunistic pricks who attempt to foist a false belief structure on others in order to impose a vitriolic code of pseudo-morality on the behaviors of others, while exhibiting the exact opposite in their own behavior.
