Apparently there must be a secret vault somewhere that exposes John O’Neill’s book as a fraud…except that O’Neill and the 191 men who constitute the SBV were telling the truth. You are all standing on quicksand and the laughably flimsy material in mediamatters.com and factcheck.org are your only ropes.
Justin , do you consider “flimsy evidence”, a tape from the oval office where John O’Neill directly tells Richard Nixon ( The President of The United States,) that he was IN Cambodia?
This directly conflicts with what O’Neill later said, that neither He himself, John Kerry, or any other swiftboaters went into Cambodia.
So Is he not telling us the truth, or did he lie to the President, in the oval office?

Ezsuds81, I have read the transcript on mediamatters.org and I do consider that flimsy evidence indeed. For one thing, he possibly misspoke in the presence of the President. I’ve heard that being near such power makes a man incredibly nervous, and no I’m not joking.
Secondly, in no way does his statement, whether said with honest or false intention, make even a perceptible scratch in the case he put against John Kerry–whose well-documented and verifiable lies dwarf this puny little example you’ve given me. I can’t imagine how long and hard the left scoured all available sources looking for something, anything, they could pin on O’Neill to make people like you dismiss the whole damn thing.
Thirdly, let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that O’Neill lied to Nixon for whatever reason. The fact that you would bring that up tells me that you have absolutely no understanding of the content of the accusations these 191 Vietnam vets have brought against Kerry. You have not read their book, nor have you bothered to check the content of their website. That is not a question. You simply do not have enough information to make a judgement.
Lastly, this is not a political issue. The sad fact is, as I’m sure any honest Washington Democrat would tell you behind closed doors, was that John Kerry was chosen much too early in ‘04 and you were all stuck with an unelectable candidate–unelectable because the SBV were telling the truth. Anybody else could have beat Bush…we at least agree there, right?

As to the “wingnut crap” I’m “spewing,” I am very familiar with what Sam Fox said to Kerry, and what you saw was not an admission that the SBVs were wrong, but a complete pussing-out by this guy Fox. And by “main financial backer” you must mean the $50K in cash he gave the Swift Boat Veterans. Well, I gave them $75. So I guess that makes me a “minor financial backer.” Either way, neither contribution undermines the SBV claim, so do you have any other reason why I’m wrong? By the way, I think GWB is a pretty lousy president, so you can take that into consideration as well.

Well, I just followed several random links…originally because I heard a “crazy left wing lunatic stalker” came to Michelle Malkin, and that turned out to be an over-the-top description of what happened, and then awhile later I saw Mike Stark pictured with John O’Neill, a man I have great respect for. This has nothing to do with the war…John Kerry is simply a man without honor, and again, any other candidate would be in the White House today had they won the Dem primary (I’m pretty certain of that).

We don’t need lectures or correction or neocon talking points and dissemination. We know why we’re here and choose to be here - we didn’t stumble across it. I don’t go reading and lecturing at right wing sites (even the ones that DO allow commenting)that I know I wouldn’t agree with and wouldn’t welcome me - and I don’t know many of our ilk who do.
