Anyone want to go for a stroll?

John McCain was on Bill Bennet’s show this morning claiming that some parts of Baghdad are safe enough for him and Bill to take a walk in… it comes at the end of the call…

Previously in the call, he mentioned that the reason we need to stay is that, unlike Vietnam, “these guys want to follow us home… It’s not Iraq they’re after, it’s us!” I left that part in the audio because it is so clearly demonstrative of exactly how far McCain has fallen in his willingness to pander to Michelle Malkin’s crowd…

Jumpin’ Jesus! A Webb Aide and former Marine was caught carrying Webb’s loaded handgun and two extra magazines into the Capitol. Was this Mike? Lawyer up!

I take it that although the the shiites, the sunnis, and members of Al Quaeda in Iraq are smart enough to hold off the world’s only superpower for four long years in combat, they are not smart enough to know where America is on a map. That’s whay they will simply wait ’till we leave and then trail us, like Tonto, and find out where America is. My guess is that once they are here, they will have to leave bread crumbs to find their way back.

As a whole, our adversaries are resourceful and they may be dumb but not nearly as dumb as anyone who takes this crapola seriously.

Here is a clue for the Senator and his feckless sidekick, Bill “The Gambler” Bennet: The terrorists have GPS too! They just don’t need to use it while we are camped out cowering behind the Green Zone or strolling the safe and secure neighborhoods of Baghdad in our tanks and armored humvees because it is so safe for us to be about like that.

The line “if we leave, they will follow us over here, so we have to keep fighting them over there” does work. A number of people I know believe such nonsense. Don’t underestimate how scared too many people are. This is propaganda; I have never seen anything resembling proof that this is true, but it gets people in their emotions. The end result is a residue of people who want us to stay there, for as long as possible. Be on guard against such propaganda and destroy it, it is insidious.

If walking through town safely is a priority, then McCain must want to resurrect and re-install Saddam. Unless you were on Hussein’s hit list, Iraq was quite safe before the neokooks hit the “invade” button.

And, if we’re occupying them there to keep them from coming here, then I still don’t get why we’re not invading Saudi Arabia, since that’s where all the 9/11 hijackers were from and where the terror dollars flow. I have never even heard of an Iraqi abroad being charged with terrorism. They’re too busy avoiding bombs and bullets at home.

Oops, I forgot that’s the point… we’ll kill every last one of them so they can never come here.

I for one hope that they do follow us over here to fight. I’ve never been much for away games and their is a home field advantage.

If terrorists wanted to hit the US while we are at our weakest, they would have been active here over these past four years while our military has been depleted. They aren’t in Iraq simply to fight the US. They are in Iraq now because we ousted the only person who could keep Iraq stable (albiet, through dictatorships that no one wants to live under). They are fighting a civil war that has made their country very weak now. Those who really understand how the world works should be able to see the similarities between Iraq and the former Yugoslavia. It’s very difficult to keep control of one nation under three very distinct groups of people; all vying for control of the country. I wish we would have used a much smarter thought process before ever going into their country. I know it wasn’t an ideal place before we decided to declare war with them, but we never had a good reason to bomb them. We gave ultimatums, and then never followed our own ultimatums. Do we feel this same necessity for all of the other dictatorships known worldwide? Stay the course? What exactly is the course? Forcing our views on others? Playing world policeman even though much of the rest of the world didn’t support our cause? Invade for oil? Revenge? America had so much respect and integrity before Bush and his croanies came along. I miss that national spirit that was once there. I was around the last time a war split our country and I had a feeling this would be a war that would end up doing the same thing. I praise the military for their purpose. Our country was founded on the sacrifices the military has made. However, I don’t agree that every war is a necessity. I think we were manipulated into believing this necessary. You would be amazed how many people believe we are there because Iraq caused 911. I would say that’s a very sad thing that Bush was able to do; create fear and false belief to support a war. Very sad indeed. And McCain will be more of the same. These people need to wake up and see the direction this war is taking us. Is there really anyone who supports this war other than those who have already lost someone there, those who feel guilty that we caused their country to become so unstable, and those who believe Iraq caused 911 (a complete falsehood)?

What makes people think they won’t follow us here anyway ?
