    hi mr stark:

    ‘homer simpson here”

I watched your performance along w/ the 3 other bloggers
    on C-Span.

You easily won the ‘churlish, foul-mouthed, thoughtless,
inarticulate, rude, uninformed, opinionated, & hateful,
    award……

    well done.

Rule #7 of living in a civilized society…. do not
spew venom about 1/2 of your fellow citizens.

i really liked the video as i stated in the last post. i think it’s a shame that this act is actually considered radical, extreme, or over the top. this action was really moderate and exactly what oreilly got away with on his show just a few days/weeks earlier. we used to have the actions of the black panthers, southern christian leadership conference, and even the extremist organizations like the weathermen. now, we think videos such as this are radical. activism for real social change has been reduced to a standstill with the exception of a handful of sheehan’s and starks. typing on a blog and preaching to the choir on the internet isn’t activism, imo. your work is inspiring.

    mike

you are aware that ko put you on his worst person in the world list when you pulled this stunt

you may have gone a bit far this time

  4. 4 pocahontas

I caught some of the forum on C-Span when you were discussing the media’s reluctance to say
negative things about Republicans. As an Independent (actually a “Common-Sense-O’crat”) I
see vile, outrageous stuff regarding Republicans all the time. Bush and Cheney are
referred to as Hitler day in and day out. One of your “wing nuts” on the Daily Kos said at least Hitler
had good intentions! Just insane. Why don’t you ever address the issue of the Throat Cutters?
Or are they just the fantasy of the fear mongering Republicans?

  5. 5 AnonymousCoward

    Mike,

I am a huge fan of your work. I am not sure if you plan to do this again, but my suggestion would be to try to stick to one issue and drive it home. I know that there are dozens of angle to attack bill on (Andrea, DailyKos bashing, constant lying, surprise interviews, scare tactics, etc.) but I think that some viewer might be confused by the merging of all those issues…

Anyways, thanks for serving a little bit of the OReilly medecine… to OReilly.

  6. 6 gage

Mr. Stark could not possibly have stepped over the line because there IS NO LINE anymore. People like O’Reilly and that insane Ann Coulter erased it a long time ago.

Things are probably going to get a lot worse before they get better, but this crap is going to end someday, and O’Reilly and his ilk will take their rightful places on the dung heap of history right next to ol Joe McCarthy and David Duke. Soon come.

  7. 7 Jil In Pattaya

I disagree with your tactics. I won’t get into the “stooping to their level” argument (e.g. Malkin), but my personal opinion is that there should be a “rules of engagement” or at least a “gentlemen’s agreement” not to choose a person’s residence as a place to confront them, especially when that person knows nothing about you or your intentions.

No matter how powerful or famous you are, the “I know where you live” insinuation… or, even more ominous: proof of that fact when someone is standing in your driveway… is something that is very unnerving and upsetting. No matter what the message being conveyed may be, the only message received by the target of that message is “watch your back.”

Sorry. I can’t stand Bill-O any more than the next person, but regardless of what justification you feel you may have had in going to his house, unless you wouldn’t mind a couple of the crazies from LGF confronting you (or your family) in your driveway, you really shouldn’t do this sort of thing.

  8. 8 Wilmer

I watched the c-span thing; the best part for me was when you said that the “media” says they likes to report the news and not create it; and, therefor “they” don’t like to ask “controversial” questions. ( something along those lines) I think you call it like you see it, and smell it - a big pile of Bullshit- thanks for that!
    -wilmer.

  9. 9 MattyG

Loved the accountability moment, but I wish you would have gone after him for something more recent. Something he could have answered to, even if he wanted. The Andrea Mackris thing, while compelling and a revelation of BillO’s character, it was a privately, legally settled matter and he couldn’t speak about it. Should have called him to task about his support for this War. Or his constant terror-baiting to keep his audience fearful of voting for Democrats b/c they can get them killed.
Or his witch hunts against college professors.

    Maybe next time.

P.S. I do like what a baby he turned into, though, muttering “you’re on my property.” Funny…when he’s on the air he talks all kinds of tough about putting a bullet between Al Franken’s eyes, and who he would have grabbed by the throat. A tailor-made opportunity to show us how tough he is, and all he can do is whimper: “you’re on my property.”
    What a tool.

I have only watched the c-span special conference, and know not much about past
writings, and do not really follow the blogs. But I do know that the press got
12/122000, wrong, but they know it also and will not correct it! they have left the
US vulnerable to anyone even the insults to our allies were on line. so we lost them.
The reall decision of 12/12/2000 has been on line in two printings, at least on
the supremecourtoftheus.gov, or supremecourtus/gov, right along with all the others,
and for the rest of the world to read also.

The rest of the world, not only thinks Bush and Cheney are idiots, they are being
to think we all are, since no corrections have ever been made no less, the further proceedings that were to take place, and did not!
it appeared the Supreme court of the Us, wanted an awful lot corrected and remedied!
it did not appear to be just for florida, nor just for the presidential election, but that was the one that gave them jurisdiction!
They have ratified nothing then or since, the outrageous election proceedings, are as far as I can see, invalid, and fraud is keeping that way, along with some extortion, and really really really false PRESS, and still is, and getting worse! Candidates, Law enforcement, canvassing boards, elections officials, and even intelligence, and Congress and all of the Adminstration and I mean all, have not even read the Decision at best, or covering up, the real Supreme Court ORDER, or even worse
they have been accusing the Supreme Court of the US, of things it did not do and accusing the Supreme Court of the Us, of not doing things IT DID DO.

AFTER REALLY READING THE PER CURIAM, BEFORE EVEN READING THE ADDITIONAL WRITINGS, CHECK OUT THE YALE LAW JOURNALS, AND OTHERS, sOME OF THE LAW SCHOOLS HAVE ACTUALLY PRINTED THE PER CURIAM, BUT PREFACED IT WITH A SORT OF UNIFORM PAGE, THAT APPEARS TO COME FROM CORNELL, AND MAKE IT LOOK AS IF THERE HAD BEEN A 5/4 DECISION BUSH WINS.
    NO SUCH THING HAPPENED!
IT APPEARS HEY WERE ALL NO SHOWS AT THE SUPREME COURT OF FLORIDA.
HOW COULD ANYONE BELIEVE THAT IF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE US,SAID
WITHIN IS ITS MANY PAGES, THAT: THE FLORIDA SUPREME COURTS JUDGMENT
DID NOT EVEN MET MIINIMAL CONSTITUTIONAL STANDARDS” !
WHO WOULD BELIEVE THAT WOULD LEAVE IT IN PLACE, AND JUST TO PUT BUSH IN OFFICE.?

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THOSE CANDIDATES THAT HAD SIMILIAR PROBLEMS AND OTHER PROBLEMS AND OTHER STATES THAT HAD OTHER PROBLEMS, LIKE DEAD MEN WINNING ELECTIONS AND THE ELECTIONS OFFICIALS USING MACHINES WITHOUT VOTERS, NO LESS ANY MACHINE, SINCE THEY WERE BEING USED FOR PURPOSES THEY WERE NOT INTENEDED TO BE USED FOR. OR RUNNING FOR TWO DIFFERENT
    POSITIONS AT THE SAME TIME.

WHY WOULD WE WANT ATHE CANDIDATES TO PICK THE OFFIERS, OF THE OTHER POSITION. sINCE NO ONE REALLY CAN PERFORM BOTH! NO LESS TO TOP
FEDERAL POSTIONS. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE INCUMBENTS LIKE THIS IDEA.

IT WAS NEVER CLEARED WITH THE SUPRMEE COURT OF THE us
THEY ALSO WERE BALSTING THE CANVASSING BOARDS AND EVEN THE JUDGES ON THEM, ALONG WITH THE ELECTION OFFICIALS AND THE CANDIDATES
tHE ONLY JUDGE THEY GAVE SOME CREDIT TOO WAS THE cHIEF JUDGE AT THE TIME OF 2000, cHARLES WELLS. weLL HIS FIRM KNOWS NOW IF THEY DID NOT BEFORE HOW WRONG THE 2000 ELECTION PROCESS HAS BEEN PROTRAYED.

YOU HAVE BEEN DUPED AND OUT ALLIES KNOW AND ANY ONE WHO DOES NOT LIKE US KNOWS IT. i AM NOT SURE THERE IS ANYWAY TO GET OUR CREDIBLITY BACK
WITHOUT CORRECTING THE WHOLE PROCESSS AND HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE

iF YOU READ ATHE PER CURIAM, YOU WILL REALIZED THAT BUSH IS IMPLICATION HIMSELF EVERY TIME HE ACCUSES SOME ONE ELSE OF DOING THE SAME THING HE AND ATHE OTHER S DID IN 2000, AND I AM SORRY IT IS STILL GOING ON!

THE PRESS HAS A GREAT DEAL TO DO WITH THIS. THEY ALSO VERY EARLY IN BEFORE ATTACKING IRAQ THERE WAS A CNN WORLD ARTICAL, ABOUT EVEIFENCE OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ, FOR WHICH ALSO LIEBERMAN WAS PUSHING THEM,! BUT IS ACCUSED THE DRUG ATROPINE OF BEING EVIDENCE OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, NOW THE WHOLE WORLD MEDICAL COMMUNITY WOULD NOT THAT IT HAD EVEN MORE AND VEY NEEDED USES THEN WAS PORTRAYED IN THAT ARITCLE THAT WENT WORLD WIDE. IT NOT ONLY WAS USED FOR
ADVERSE REACTIONS BUT ALSO SOME ALLERGIC REACTIONS, AND HEART CONDITIONS, AND SURGERY, AND EVEN SEVERE DIARRHEA, AND IT CAN ALSO KILL YOU IF USED WRONGFULLY!

SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE PRESS, BEING SO WRONG AND THOSE THAT WENT WILLINGLY WITH THEM.

  11. 11 j zak

TO MIKE: I APOLOGIZE I APOLOGIZE I APOLOGIZE, FOR MY TYPING AND NO INTENT TO DISCREDIT YOU! I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH WHAT I SAW, AND HEARD.
THERE IS HOPE FOR THE BLOGS, NOT THE BIG TIME PRESS.

I APOLOGIZE AND DO NOT MEAN TO CRITIZE YOUR WORK. YOU APPEAR TO HAVE DONE BETTER THEN MOST ANYONE ELSE. BUT I DO CRITIZE MOVE ON.ORG.
JUST MOVE ON, WAS NOT WHAT WE NEEDED THEM OR NOW.
    MY TYPING IS HORRENDOUS!

I NEVER BEGRUDGE ANYONE FOR MAKING A MISTAKES. NO LESS TYPING ONES.
I NEED A SECRETARY, DO YOU KNOW OF A GOOD ONE.

I HAVE A NURSING BACKGROUND, AND THEREFORE I DID NOT NEED TO TYPE.
I CANNOT TYPE AND HAVE INJURED FINGERS, AND THE SCREENS PRESENT A PROBLEM
WITH DIFFERENT TYPES AND COLORED SCREENS, ALSO MY FINGERS DRAG.

SO I APOLOGIZE FOR MY TYPING. IT TAKES ME TOO LONG TO CORRECT ERRORS
AND “QUOTE” THE MACHINES DO NOT DO, WHAT I WANT THEM TO DO!
ESPECIALLY WHEN I TRY TO CORRECT. IT IS FRUSTRATING. I HAVE A FEELIING THIS ALSO HAPPENS WITH THE MACHINES USED FOR VOTING PURPOSES. SOMEONE ELSE CAN PROGRAM IT BY THE WAY THE SUPREME COURT OF THE US ALSO SAID,
“TIME WAS NOT OF THE ESSENCE”

IN TYPING CERTAIN THINGS, THE PROGRAM SEEMS TO WANT TO THING FOR YOU,
LIKE IF YOU USE ONE WORD MORE THEN ANOTHER IT WILL CHOOSE THAT WORD, FOR CORRECTION.. SUCH AS LAND AND AND, OR US AND USE
OR TO AND TWO, OR THE AND THEY. AND THEN YOU HAVE TO NOT ONLY CORRECT YOUR OWN TYPING, BUT THEIRS AS WELL, AND THE MARKERS CONTINUE TO HAVE CORRECTIONS IN THE WRONG PLACES. LIGHTING AND SIZE OF TYPE IS ALSO SIGNIFICANT. I FEEL THE ON LINE SCREENS HAVE EXPOSED A NEW FORM OF
COLOR BLINDNESS, SINCE IT IS NOT RED OR GREEN IN MY CASE, IT IS BLUES AND BLACKS ETC ETC ETC,! THE TYPE IS TO BIG WHEN I WANT TO TYPE BUT THEN MANY
OF THE TYPING SCREENS DO NOT LET YOU SEE ALL OF WHAT YOU TYPE AT THE SAME TIME. I LIKE YOUR SCREEN IT IS BETTER THEM MOST.

I FEEL I NEEDED TO APOLOGIZE TO YOU, SINCE I WAS NOT CRITIZING YOU
BUT I WAS CRITIZING THE REGULAR PRESS AND MOVE-ON.ORG FOR COLLECTING SO MUCH MONEY, AND THEN NOT CORRECTING THEIR OWN PREMISES.
I HAD EVEN DISCLOSED MUCH OF THIS, TO HOWARD DEAN, AND TRIPPI WAS ONE OF THE STAFFERS AT THE TIME. EITHER TRIPPI DID NOT KNOW ENOUGH, OR DID NOT PASS IT ON!

  12. 12 Je support les troops

I hate Bill O’Reilly as much as anyone here does. Unfortunately, Mike, I think what you did was just “mean.” Yeah - O’Reilly’s a total asshole and deserves to be treated like one, but… well… I just didn’t feel comfortable with this one.

Somebody else here suggested sticking with just one thing. The falafel/loofa angle is inherently funny and you know it’s got to bug the shit out of O’Reilly…

Why not film yourself delivering falafels to him? Advertise a new falafel restaurant using his telephone number? Film yourself taking a shower on his front yard with a falafel? Sponsor a “Support the Troops” dinner at a local VFW club in his honor and serve falafels… The possibilities are endless.

  13. 13 gage

Ever heard the expression, “He’d climb up a pole to tell a lie, when he could stand on the ground and tell the truth”? There are people in the world who would rather deal their cards under the table than on top. O’Reilly prefers it because he’s lazy and untalented, and couldn’t make the living he’s making doing something legitimate. Outside of his ratings, he doesn’t any more give about the impact of his deeds than does a pimp or a heroin pusher. You needn’t worry yourselves with taking the moral high ground with people like O’Reilly, you’re already standing on it.

  14. 14 Mr.Blonde

right on gage–without doubt the most salient view of Billo that I’ve heard!

  15. 15 FrankLobo

Are you kidding me?!? That’s it?!?

THAT’S the video? 75% Fox New footage, 20% footage of a grown man using magic markers making “signs”, and 5% footage of a balding, overweight law school drop-out breathing heavily while trying to walk down a driveway?

    You gotta be kidding me.

What are you six years old? Why didn’t you just say, “Mr. O’Reilly, is it true you’re a big ol’ meany?”

    Pathetic.

I’d like to say please stop embarassing yourself- but I really, REALLY want you (and the rest of the nutroots) to PLEASE keep this up at least until the 2008 elections.

  16. 16 tony marques

    franklobo:

I agree that I too, was underwelmed by the video, but that doesnt change the fact the oreally is a first class Douchebag, does it???

  17. 17 Pocahontas

Hey Tony - can’t you come up with an intelligent debate other than referring to O’Reilly as a
“Douchebag”? You guys are just so infantile!

  18. 18 Rheinhard

OK, if douchebag is too infantile, how some more polysyllabic but accurate descriptions? Demagogue? Ignoramus? Popinjay? Alarmist? Bellicose?

  19. 19 tony marques

    Thanks Rheinhard.

I was actually going to respond to pocahontas and debate intelligently, but then I came to the realization that she has already drank the kool aid so there is nothing that I can say that will change her mind, so why bother?

  20. 20 Pocahontas

The only people drinking kool-aid are those who refuse to acknowledge the real threat and say
it’s all fear mongering…don’t take my word for it, check out this website: intheirownwords.com

    I’ve been studying Radical Islam since 9/11 - I’m no “kool-aid” drinker.
If you have the guts to explore what they are saying and doing across the globe and listen
to those that have experienced it, transformed themselves (like Walid Shoebat et al) and
many other non-political voices warning us, maybe you’ll get off the kool-aid.

No need to get nasty, but that’s what you guys do best.

  21. 21 Mr.Blonde

not to derail the thread, but exactly HOW are we supposed to take seriously the Sean Hannity’s, Dick Cheney, GWB, O’Reilly, Coulter, Rush, Romney, etc, etc, etc who lecture the rest of us about how naive we are about RI, (and what “WE” need to do about it) when THEY wouldn’t put their azz (or their kids) on the line?

Just exactly wtf planet are you people from?? I’d really like to know.

  22. 22 FrankLobo

Mr. Blonde, your question is ridiculous.
I suppose in your world- I would have to run for School Board or become a teacher in order for me to have an opinion on or speak out about education.

“WE” as a society can do a lot of things without all of “US” belonging to a certain group.

I don’t have to be gay to support gay rights.
I don’t have to be a woman to support choice.

…so why do I have to “put [my] azz (sic) on the line” to give an opinion as to the military or to speak out against the SAVAGES who want to kill us all?

Go sell crazy somewhere else, we’re all stocked up here.

And for TONY- the only thing that Stark did in that video is make BOR look good and make himself look like a douchebag.

  23. 23 Mr.Blonde

nice-try, but no, Frank, in my world there is a clear distinction between proffering an opinion on a school-board, or like issue, and asking someone else (or their kids) to make the ultimate sacrifice! I really don’t have a problem with a difference of opinion on how to proceed in the WOT, but I most definitely do have a problem with being conscendingly lectured to, and ridiculed by many on the Right, who don’t/wouldn’t have the stones to serve themselves. I’ve heard your defense of this indefensible position before, and “Frank-ly”, it’s pretty disgusting and tells me a lot about your character friend!

Do us a favor and go back to watching FOX…oh wait, this is how you serve your Country in the WOT, right? Fight the good fight man!

  24. 24 FrankLobo

Well, Mr. Blonde, you (and the rest of the nutroots) know all about condesending and ridculing others, don’t you?

Its all about FREE SPEECH, unless its speech that the LEFT doesn’t like. Then, its all HATE SPEECH… is that it, Mr. Blonde?

Perhaps if you did watch the NUMBER ONE cable news network, you might learn something. Until then, continue to follow this loser and go back to reading the dailyKKKOS and HufPo.

  25. 25 Mr.Blonde

for the record, until the advent (early to mid-90’s) of Rush-radio, and his corresponding minions, I was all for conciliatory dialogue, but after witnessing how you peeps portrayed anyone (including McCain) who even marginally disagreed with your pov, I recognized that we were dealing with the archetypical Bully, and I believe Mike actually knows how to deal with your kind. Like most bullies, when you punch em in the nose, you find out they’re really cowardly pussies! You guys started this shiat, but somehow I’m not surprised that you can’t handle it when you get it back in your face…see ya Fairy!

ps–thanx for fu**ing up this once great County, when you had the wheel–Dems might not be perfect by a long-shot, but at least they didn’t drive the car in the ditch like an alcoholic on a bender.

  26. 26 pocahontas

Blondie - what do you do to help in these days of turmoil besides your sanctimonious tape loop?

I do what I can to help by donations to the families of those serving, donations to organizations exposing terrorist operations (NON POLITICAL ones), am an active member of my community’s CERT team (community emergency response team) to name just a few. Does this make me a right-wing kool-aid drinker?

I would LOVE to be convinced that the throat cutters don’t really want to blow up my city with a radio active truck explosion which they are telling us will happen this month or next. It would be bliss to believe it’s all a hoax. Tell that to the Buddhists in Southern Thailand who are getting beheaded daily. What is their foreign policy that brings this savagery on them? Why were 3 15 year old Christian girls walking to school in Malayasia beheaded? This horror goes on and on all over the globe daily.

There are many avenues of information coming from counter-terrorism experts who have nothing to do with politics. They have no agenda to promote fear mongering, it is a matter of being informed and understanding that through using our legislative system they are getting more and more powerful - it’s a fact. If you think I’m a crazed nut because I believe what I read (THEIR WORDS) and see (in video), then so be it. I have no desire to convince you of anything, but please don’t go ad hominem on me.

  27. 27 Mr.Blonde

scuse please but where did I say it was a hoax?? I happen to believe that RI, (or any other form of terror-based anarchy for that matter) presents a legit threat to orderly, law-abiding societies everywhere, but anyone who doesn’t believe in the principle of war as a last resort, plays fast and loose with the lives of others imo, which is pretty disgusting in & of itself. the fact of the matter is that besides wasting untold billions of $, the little detour we’ve taken in Iraq has actually put us behind the eight-ball in the WOT…if you don’t believe me, there are plenty of salient voices to the right of center that have affirmed this. not to diminish your somewhat noteworthy gestures, but how much of a donation do you reckon it would take to attempt to replace a kids Dad who was killed or maimed in a debate-ably unneccesary action in Iraq?? I don’t think you’re crazy for believing in the threat, but I also think anyone who doesn’t feel a little bit of self-conscious shame for advocating someone else do their “dirty-work” for them, is fairly dangerous too. I actually admire old-fashioned low-key (lead by example) Conservatism, but that’s gone the way of the Dinosaur, to be replaced by the loud-mouthed, trumpeting hypocrite.

  28. 28 FrankLobo

Mr. Blonde, the oh, so tolerant progressive said:
    “…see ya Fairy!”

Why is always the liberals who “debate” with anti-gay slurs? Mr. Blonde must be homophobic.

  29. 29 Mr.Blonde

I don’t really think you’re gay…just effiminate–now get back to fighting that couch-potato WOT, you keyboard warrior you!

  30. 30 FrankLobo

THERE’S that condesending and ridicule we all know and love from Mr. Blonde.

Yep, nothing but progress thoughts here!

  31. 31 tony marques

Hey pocahontas and franklobo. I dont for one second deny the threat that radical islamists pose to us.

I know that they would slit our throats first chance they get. However, I dont think there is a democrat alive who could have f*cked up this war and this country any worse than shrub junior has.

He and his cohorts have turned this great country into the laughing stock of the world.

I used to see respect for America when I went to Europe, now, I get ridiculed for being American!!!!!

Get it???? bush and cheney are F*ck ups!!!! Wake up!!!

  32. 32 pocahontas

I have no love for Bush - but you can thank Slick Willy for letting the throat cutters take advantage of our weakness. I think both administrations are screw ups. We have no leaders!

    I did get it -

  33. 33 pocahontas

p.s. things aren’t looking too rosey for Europe these days - they don’t call it Eurabia for nothing.

  34. 34 shawnharmon

These posts are like reading the wall above the urinal.

BTW, don’t throw toothpicks in the bowl, the crabs can pole vault

  35. 35 tony marques

pocahontas: You are right. Europe, especially Sweden and France and being invaded by muslims. But what does that have to do with the price of rice in China?

Our biggest mistake was leaving Afghanistan before completing the job of destroying the taliban and alqueda in order to go to Iraq for the oil….err,… I mean in order to rid the Iraqi people of their terrible dictator and bring them the democracy and freedom that they yearn for.

    How’s that working out???

For what it’s worth, I believe president cheney (and his puppet bush), knowingly lied to the American about the threat that Iraq posed to us. Ok, I’m not so sure bush knew he was lying, but cheney definitely knew he was lying.

Oh, by the way. I was no fan of Slick Willy, but bush couldn’t shine Bill Clintons’ shoes. I would trade Bill Clinton for bush any day of the week. BJ’s and all.

  36. 36 FrankLobo

Tony said: “I dont think there is a democrat alive who could have f*cked up this war and this country any worse than shrub junior has.”

Riiiiiight… that’s why B. Hussein Obama has said that he would “sit down and talk” to the world’s most brutal dictators and invade our ally Pakistan (who HAS WMDs). Oh, and who also said that the nuculear option was “off the table”

I can think of PLENTY of democrats who could f*ck it worse that Bush. Dennis Kucinich anyone? How ’bout your party’s leaders who are on record as saying that if things get better in Iraq, the party is in trouble? See, your party is ACTIVELY ROOTING FOR FAILURE because they hate Bush.

You hate Bush. We get it.

But what does it say about the democrats when Hillary (HILLARY!) is the HAWK in the oh, so stellar line-up of presidential hopefuls?!?

  37. 37 Mr.Blonde

what does it say about republicans when the HAWKS, are really SQUAWKS, frankie-boy?

bwwwoooock! money, meet mouth…need sum mo aiss in those big breeches!

  38. 38 FrankLobo

Umm… what?!? That didn’t even make sense.

But, I’d expect no less from people who are ACTIVELY ROOTING AGAINST US, like Mr. Blonde.

  39. 39 tony marques

Hey lobo. Nobody here is rooting for America to lose. But if that is what it takes for you sleep at night, keep thinking it.

  40. 40 FrankLobo

Well then, Tony- please enlighten me:

Liberals/Democrats don’t want the Patriot Act
Liberals/Democrats don’t want to wiretap suspected terrorists
Liberals/Democrats don’t want to hold enemy combatants captured on the battlefield
Liberals/Democrats don’t want any US troops in Iraq
Liberals/Democrats don’t want the “John Doe” amnesty protections against lawsuits

In fact, Liberals/Democrats have OPPOSED every measure proposed to fight the war on terror because they (say it with me) HATE BUSH.

We are fighting al qaeda in Iraq.
    YOU want us to withdraw.
    Retreat.
    Surrender.

So- just HOW are you not rooting for us to lose?

By the way, just what is the PLAN for Dems should (God forbid) they take the White House? (ooops! can you say “God” on a liberal blog? My bad)

  41. 41 tony marques

    franklobo:
Liberal/Democrats are for all of the things you described above, however, we want oversite. We dont want bush to have a blank check to do whatever he pleases.

I wonder if you’ll sing the same tune if bush wiretaps your ass and finds out you are fornicating with your goats and puts in you jail. Then we’ll see if youre still ok with wiretapping Americans with no warrant and no overiste. (Notice I didnt say calls involving American and overseas?, I’m all for that).

If you really believe that were not fighting them over here right now because we are fighting them over there, then not only did you drink the kool aid, you’ve also swallowed.

What? you think alqueda cant multitask? Remember, they waited almost nine years before hitting us again. You really believe the only reason they havent tried to hit us again is because baby shrub is protecting you??? keep drinking.

I dont want to retreat or surrender, BUT, if you dig a hole that you cant get out of, the answer is not to keep digging,… dig?

oh, and by the way, God is not a dirty word. I’d be really afraid of you if you didnt believe in God. It’s the only think thats keeping you in check!!!!!

  42. 42 pocahontas

Frank don’t dignify Tony’s post with a response..he/they always resort to low level personal attacks and reduce it to drivel. You made some valid points and tried to engage in healthy debate. There are plenty of other sites to discuss issues with people of common sense who have differing views. This place is a cess pool.

  43. 43 Mr.Blonde

you peeps don’t know what “healthy debate” is–ironic ain’t it that we’re even discussing this as Karl Rove is making noise. Rove attempted to remove the principle of political debate as no other in the history of our Country–his act finally caught up with him as that mo spilled over into his own Party–kinda hard to stop that ball rolling once you get used to it. No, the only “debate” your kind enjoys is in the echo-chamber known as talk-radio–I suggest you do indeed grant us the privilege of your parting company & take your simple-minded talking points elsewhere.

  44. 44 tony marques

    Well said Mr. Blonde.

On my previous post, I regret that the part about the goat was over the top. But I stand by the rest of the post.

    But to finish my point.

    franklobo:
When do you suggest we pull out of Iraq? when we spent 10 trillion dollars??? when we lose 50000 soldiers??
Tell you what, if you believe in this war so much, why dont you send your kids over there, sell all your possessions, and give the money to bush to help pay for iraq’s freedom and democracy?

Pocahontas, same question goes to you.

    Yeah,…. I thought so.

Hey Lobotomy, I never said I believe in this war so much. It makes me nuts when Bush says we’re fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here. They are here, they’ve been here for a long time.
Like you said, they’re very patient - the next attack is going to be “spectacular”. I believe the Bush administration screwed up royally and got us into a disaster. I don’t have the answers. We just handed Ahmadniwacko a big junk of the middle east. This war is going to last decades unless he pulls off his ushering in of the 12th Mahdi lunacy with nukes - then what?

Does it mean anything to you and that Blonde nasty jerk that Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998? That every member of his administration was in favor of taking down Saddam? Yes, I know he
DIDN’t go there (yet). The Bush gang didn’t plan for what happened after and didn’t listen to the advice of those who had other opinions on what to do - I”M PISSED OFF TOO! But we broke it, so we have to
stabalize it or it is going to get really ugly.

Anyway, you guys don’t care what I have to say - you just lump me with the right wingers and I’m not one.
I just have an open mind and listen to many opinions and FACTS so at least I’ll have clarity.

You can go right ahead and sling your infantile crap.

even if you believe that the Surge is working, and that establishing a Democratic style gov’t in Iraq (sometime within the next 10/15 years) will help counter terrorism, in the end was it worth the cost of lives and money, and diplomatic currency, when it quite possibly could’ve been pursued in a much better and less damaging fashion??? Economically alone, we no longer have the margin of error that most of us did growing up in the Post-WWII boom America. We were heading downhill fast (due to increasing competition) but the Bush crew has put the foot on the accelerator. Simple times call for simple answers–we no longer live in simple times…

    end of oil
    global terrorism
    shifting economies
    environmental impact

Cons belly-ached for years about how they had better answers—they had their chance & drove the car in the ditch. You were better suited for governance during “Rockwell-ian” times, if there ever really was such a thing. Your chickens are now coming home to roost, and somebody is going to have to TRY to clean up your mess!

I truly believe when all is said & done, that many Conservatives have a disturbing fatalistic streak, no so terribly different from those hated Fundamentalist Muslims…it all comes back to rigid Ideaology, which is diametrically opposed to consensus-building Democracy.

Pocahontas. I’m sorry I bashed you. I thought you were a bush apologist. Your post sounds like it was written by a reasonable individual.

However, to say that cheney and bush didnt plan for what happened after we invaded is not good enough. Listen to was cheney said in 1994 regarding invading Iraq (cut and past the link below)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BEsZMvrq-I&eurl=http://www.crooksandliars.com/

He knew exactly what would happen after we invaded and he did it anyway.

And please dont give me the “9/11 changed everything” talking point.

    regards

every member but one–Sandy Berger (or Burglar as Cons prefer–which I agree with). If you really have an open mind, maybe you’d like to learn where (I believe) the idea for this deposement (WMD’s-whatever) was hatched. “Clinton-bashing” makes you look like a partisan-hack, or worse, a so-called “Independent”.

  49. 49 pocahontas

How was stating the FACT that Clinton initiated the Iragi Liberataion Act “Clinton bashing”?
Most of his administration agreed - the quotes are all facts. Anyway, it’s all mute now. The only important thing is where to go from here. The enemy doesn’t negotiate, like I said read THEIR words. The only ones who really understand their mentality are the counter-terrorism experts who are NON-PARTISAN.
There is not one potential Presidentail candidate who understands what we are facing. We are in bed with the biggest hate machine of them all, Saudi Arabia - they created this monster interpretation of Islam.
Please don’t tell me about Bush and the Saudi’s - every President since oil was discovered has kissed the
    asses of those hate mongers.

Thanks Tony for your apology, it is appreciated. I know Cheney was chomping at the bit to go into Iraq.
I’m reading George Tenant’s book and he pretty much says that too.

  50. 50 Mr.Blonde

the key word is “most”–and to figure out where we’re going, it’s vitally important to figure out how we got where we are now. wow, you paint with a wide brush, for one who doesn’t like to be painted.

“Slick-Willy”–sorry if I mis-interpreted your Presidential nick-name for bashing. Seriously now, and I’m not excusing Clinton’s sexual escapades, but do you feel that the Impeachment proceedings handicapped him in ANY way, regarding how he was attempting to deal with both Saddam, and Bin Laden? Straight answer–yes or no!

  51. 51 Pocahontas

    Yes

  52. 52 Mr.Blonde

I tried to post a link, but the site might be still having problems….

  53. 53 Mr.Blonde

google “Front Line Berger Wolfowitz” for the transcript.

  54. 54 TheSpartan

Lobo, you do realize that the Al Queda we are fighting in Iraq bears little if any relationship to the Al Queda responsible for 9/11 and still operating in Pakistan/Afghanistan/Africa right?

  55. 55 Sean Davis

Please don’t argue with the trolls…
